Yogis and Families

Last night I was tacked down with some inquiries regarding the life of student yogis who agree not to remain celibate but to marry instead and carry the responsibility for family, which some students said have proved to be a pain-in-the-arse.

First of all the system of reproduction is not my system. It is the system of nature. I recommended it and also Babaji asked me specifically not to tell anybody to take the full celibate route but instead to use the indirect route. The direct route is where a student remains as a bachelor or spinster throughout life without marrying. That is the system of full sannyasi, full renunciation of the feature of reproducing. In the Vedic system, sex means reproducing while in the modern setting sex means sex pleasure and it is not necessarily linked to reproduction.

The modern development means that human beings can unhitch sex from the reproduction dead-weight and just have a good time.

Babaji felt that students should willingly reproduce since the very same student or some other yogi might need a body in the future. His idea is that we should contribute to the birth pool of bodies and not evade it altogether. This is despite its danger to the yogi in making him forget all about spiritual life and in making him fail to meet the requirements for attaining a siddha body after death of the physical system.

One should think in the long range to see what one’s situation might be in the next life. Don’t be occupied with what is going on in this life, because this is already preset by providence. What you can adjust if anything is your next life. In this life you have already taken a certain birth and were raised by a certain family. That cannot be adjusted now but the next birth you might adjust.

Look ahead at that. The social energy bank account is not a mergence of energy. It is not an oneness. Far from it, each of us has an individual account. No amount of lack of opinion, lack of judgment, will protect anyone from the reactions which are to come because of actions.

Performing actions with or without judgment does not in any way affect the way nature will react to the account. Do you really think that I won’t be burnt merely because I stop believing that fire burns? Or because I stop myself from making a judgment when I place my hand in the flame? Please be reasonable with yourself.

Each of us has a particular social account. If for instance, I beget a child in the womb of a woman. Then the matter does not end there. Just by that one sexual act certain liabilities will be pinned on me by nature. Now suppose while raising that child, I did not pay attention. So then a relative did so, like my sister or aunt. Then the social credits for that will go to each of those persons and not to me even though I was instrumental in beginning the life of that child.

Nature will sort it because nature is not into vagueness and oneness without differentiation and specific reaction.  The other more important issue was explained in detailed by Bhishma to Yudhishthira in the Mahabharata. In the Bhagavad Gita another issue is clarified which is that the Supreme Person, Krishna, does not accept anyone’s bad or good reactionary consequences.

In other words what we are told in Christianity that Jesus will take our sins is ruled out or denied in the Bhagavad Gita.

But the issue which Bhishma cleared up to Yudhishthira is the one in which there is some idea that a person can nullify a bad act by doing a good one to counteract the bad one. Because of the layout of time, any such calculation has to take in account how time will unfold and where the counteraction will be placed in reference to that. In fact if we just look at this like blind men who only see what is taking place in this life’ and what we are empowered to do in this life, then we cannot really understand this. Then our naivety will tell on us. How about setting up a reaction to something bad which I did when the reaction comes in another life, when I have no information about my past action.

To make an effective counteraction which nature will not regard as a fresh action, one has to be in a particular position which is allowed by time. But if time does not accommodate me in that way, what is the value of my counteraction. In fact then my counteraction might serve as a fresh action to bring on another reaction.

How will I instruct time? Or how will I redirect time in any situation? Can I be the master of time?

In the present life, the father of my body was neglectful of the body when it was growing up. Later on when the body was 15 years of age, he suddenly developed an interest in the wellbeing of the body. In the meantime for those 15 years, his mother took an interest in the body and contributed to its upbringing.

Will he able to transfer his mother’s merits to himself? Can he do something now that he is deceased to counteract the neglect? Suppose he passes no judgment on his action and we all agree to do likewise, then will nature observe our mood and spare him the karmic reactions for that neglect.

Recently this person, the father of the body, was requesting that I assist him in getting his next body. His sister, an aunt of this body also passed on and he was with her. This is what she said, “

“Both of us should try to get help from dear Mommy. She was our mother before, she can easily be our mother again. You should help us with this.”

I replied,

“I do not have that sort of power where I can adjust the reactions which are to be unfolded in the layout of time. I can recommend you. I can make sure that I raise no objections to your attempt but it will unfold according to your due reactions. My non-objection or recommendation only has value if Time has a place in itself to absorb that.

“The fact that this person was your mother previously does not in any way influence time’s layout which will be based on this person’s life as your mother as well as whatever else happened in that history. “

My father then said,

“I am confident that you could help us out. We all know you are a mystic. And mystics are known to be effective in such things of the supernatural.”

I replied,

“Mystics have the advantage of having more insight into the layout of time but mystics are not the rulers of time. Seeing that in the future a plane will crash has no connection with being able to stop the event. We mystics can see but that in no way proves that we can adjust what we see. You overestimated my ability. In any case since you both requested, I will immediately send out a release energy which gives you facility, provided time has got your accounts set in such a way as to accommodate this energy.”
