Email Inquiry:
Should one move the infusion breath from the lungs to the navel and then down the base chakra by placing awareness and attention (feeling that area)?
MiBeloved's Response:
More or less that is the idea. The question is however if the system will follow this placing of the awareness. The way the system is designed by nature, the awareness concentrates itself at sensation and pain. If for instance your arm is caught in a door, then the pain from the squeezing action will put your attention to that area of the body. We know this sure. That is why people avoid pain, because they do not want to be forced to put their attention in some part of the body which they do not like.
This means that nature has a system of getting your attention all on its own. Okay but that is the undesirable taking of your attention by nature. In the case of say sex desire, then nature again is operating and there it pulls your attention, except that this is what you like, so you try to increase that to encourage nature to do more of that. But then again it is nature that is pulling your attention, because before puberty there was no interest in that.
The interest came as a result of nature’s developments.
To be a human being and to be honest about it, we must first understand that nature is doing most of this scene and we are simply tagging along, like little kids being pulled through the street by the force of their dependence on their mother who is walking along as they hold the end of her skirt and are dragged home.
Can this be accepted, because unless we look at this square on and get all those queer ideas out of our heads about being free agents, this conversation will go nowhere and I will be wasting my time?
Okay so the next angle is the angle where we will try to drag nature along instead of having it drag us. So how is this done?
Can you sit there and focus on your arm and create a pain in the arm? In other words can we really reverse this relationship with nature, where we put our attention somewhere and then nature is compelled to come wherever that attention is placed? Can we flip it and play nature’s game backwards.
So if you can do that then for sure you can just direct where the energy will go just like that and it seems that many of the teachers say this can be done. I have my reservations about it because I think that the souls are simply whims, weak little shits, who do not have ability to command nature.
My advice is that since we are wimps we should just learn what nature is doing and then try to make little alterations. If you work at a sugar plant and you are addicted to the stuff, then don’t try to steal a trunk load. Be modest. Take a teaspoon once a day and let it be like that. Don’t arrogantly drive off with a trunk load, then get arrested and be put under lock and key.
So what do I do? Since I realized that I was just a whim and that nature is way ahead of me and will keep being ahead forever, I decided to just learn from nature and play along behind her, the good mother that she is.
So I use postures to cause the attention to go to certain areas. I learnt from nature that when there is a pain somewhere, the attention is drawn there under compulsion. So I use that procedure of using the asana postures and doing the infusion on those postures while keeping the attention at the place of tension in the posture or the place of pain in the posture. And this works. I am not a great yogi. I do not sit and meditate and do magic in my head just like that. First I use asana postures with the breath infusion and then I am able to get the attention to go to specific areas.
Like there is this posture which I discovered. I put my body on all fours, and then I slap down my feet so that my toes hit the ground while I do the rapid breathing. This hitting of the toes causes the attention to go to the toes and when that happens the attention is also at the base chakra from where the nadis originate which are in the toes. So in that way I attack the muladhara chakra. So that is what I do.
Some years back a teacher introduced me to visualization but I found out that my mind was weak and could not do it effectively, so I left that practice and began to do the breath infusion with asanas and that works wonder for my wimpy self.
You may see the videos of some of my practice, if you have not done so already by making a request to Bernard at:
There is one other thing. In meditation I do see things, really. This happens because I first do the asana postures with the breath infusion. That causes a rapid increase of psychic perception. First I do the infusion and then immediately after without a second, I sit to meditate and that is how I see all sorts of wonderful things.
