Yogi Gurus without Sons

This morning during breath infusion, Yogeshwarananda Guruji, had me work on a part of the thigh which is important for reaching the legs and toes. This is the area where some tendons in the thigh go down to just above the knee. In a body which is not supple, this area is out of reach of the yogi. As one is able to stretch and relax these tendons more and more, this area can be reached.
This, of course, is a physical action in postures but the real concern is the subtle body which is interspaced into the physical one and which is affected when this is done physically. See the diagram below which I borrowed from a site called Knee.com.
In that diagram you will see the two tendons numbered 1, 2 and 3. This practice targets these three tendons especially 1 and 2. By stretching these tendons one stimulates the bones they are connected to and that in turn causes changes in the blood marrow which is produced by those bones as well as how that marrow is distributed to other parts of the body. In the subtle body this all relates to the quality of pranic energy which is in those parts of the psyche. A yogi just cannot afford to be only concerned with the head or with the chakras on the spine. The other parts of the psyche need to be elevated and cleared of heavy astral force as well.
While I was doing the breath infusion, Yogesh Guruji, was again looking at aspects in my memory. Once he saw a notation which was of a conversation with Yogi Bhajan, where the yogi admonished me about beginning an ashram. Yogesh looked at it. Then he said,
“Begin an ashram? That is what you want to do. Do not think about this again. Stay close to your yoga gurus. What will happen if every disciple becomes a guru? Then we will have gurus and no disciples. Fathers without sons, what is this?”
