Email correspondence:

Currently have a client with a cyst on his pineal (MRI scan). Am using abdominal breathing to Full Yogic breathing and Yoga Nidra (Satyananda), Very reluctant to do anything involving Ajna Chakra, including Nadi Shodhana or pranayamas which alternate between nostrils. Client profile: 53 y.o. male, in recovery from Major Depression, successful chemotherapy which has eradicated Hep C, and on anti-viral medication for HIV (25 years positive, now zero detectable viral load). Any suggestions?

MiBeloved's Response:

System is finished due to chemical alterations in cell structures, cannot be genetically altered back even by mystic means.

If you can be honest with the patient, then advice the person to face up to the fact that that body is not only temporary but it is no longer what it was and it has changed in such a way which makes it impossible to change it back.

This has accelerated the presumption of death of that body and made it necessary to face up to what every mortal creature must deal with, which is assumption of existence beyond the body. This means that the patient should begin packing his bags to leave, so to speak, or shifting his attention to the subtle side and cultivating that.

The other thing is that yoga was not originally intended for health purposes or to cure diseases. Many yogis even B.K. Iyengar, even the current Ramadev, even Swami Satyananda (Bihar School of Yoga) indicated that yoga may be used for health but there is no statement to that effect in Patanjali or Bhagavad Gita.

Yoga is misused when it is used as a part of health system. Health is supposed to be a by-product of the practice not the purpose of it. Be careful in that regard before you offend Yoga and its genuine means abandons you.

When he was asked about the misuse of mantras by brahmins, Sanat Sujatiya told King Dhritarashtra, that just as birds fly away from a tree when there is a disturbance in it, so the effects of the sacred mantras desert a brahman who misuses them.

Now let us look at the treatment, the chemo and the anti-viral. There was benefit from these chemicals but there were also side effects. These did some good and also poisoned certain beneficial cells and destroyed certain aspects of the genetic code in the body. I would bet you one million dollars that if you run a DNA test on this person, you will find that the code has been irretrievably altered.

Hey, I am a poor yogi, so put your money on the table. If you loose, it would have been to a good cause, you would have helped a sadhu. If you win, then I am your slave because I cannot pay the money. In either case you could derive tremendous benefit. What about it?

But for me the main thing here is how did the Hep-C get into this person’s body and how did the HIV get in also. What was the lifestyle or association which caused this? Because that is the issue here. That is the ghost which will continue to haunt this patient from here on out, until this patient no longer needs such association. Now if we can deal with it in that way, then we are talking about real yoga, not otherwise.
