Unsuitable Disciples / Hariharananda

Today’s breath infusion went well but since I was working with a student, it was not my usual practice. Swami Hariharananda was there insisting on my checking the student’s psyche and giving directions on which postures to assume and where to focus the infusion energy.
I did do the gather-the-energy kriya during the meditation phase of practice but it did not get to the point of developing spiritual perception. There was a phase of gathering the outpouring energy which was like using the hands to collectively pull items into the chest.
Every so often the energy would slip away or it would not be gathered and would slip through the fingers. I made repeated attempts.
Swami Hariharananda made a statement during the meditation session. He said this:

The students were non receptive, which meant that even though I entered the psyche of the students, there was an inability to be sensitive to the influence. This caused the failure of the process of guru grace-bestowal. The whole thing was a flop. For higher yoga if one does not have the proper cultural background, then the guru disciple relationship cannot work.
Where is their sensitivity, because without that, then what can the guru do? If the nature of the student is dense, then what can the teacher do? Students should have an aptitude for the subject being taught. I could bless anyone but will it take effect. I can apply a salve to a wound but will it heal?
Meditation practice is not for dense people.
Yes, they came, and yes, I blessed them but their density of nature was nonresponsive.

There is a difference between welcoming those who come, and luring the comers with promises that can't be fulfilled (using ads in the papers, lectures, etc), to later blame the impossibility on the shortcomings of the comers. When the Guru does the latter, even when using proxies to do so, he assumes, at least partly, responsibility for the failures.
