Two Lucid Dreams

I had two lucid dreams this morning back to back.

The first one, I became aware of my presence at the ground level, from the perspective of an ant crawling through grass and then from there I rose up into full perspective and started to move.  Then the scene shifted at some point into mountains and then saw a portal-like window and took it and it shifted into the modern day world.  I began to fly at this point and had very little control over where I went.

My speed seemed to go faster over time and then reached a constant speed at a fairly quick rate.  I was looking for signs of advanced civilization or things that were unusual but couldn't spot anything like that.  So then I landed and awoke.

I was aware of my physical body throughout the experience.  I had very little control over the scenery and it felt as if I was being pulled along a channel of energy.

The second one, it occurred about ten minutes after I awoke from the first one.  Someone very briefly introduced me to a lady and we walked down the street together as if on a date.  There was a chemistry between us and an invisible force that pulled the two of us together and then I awoke when the force became too strong.

Both dreams occurred when I was in a physically exhausted stated...having done a lot of physical sport activity in the past couple days with very tired muscles.

Sometimes one has little faith in the information given about yoga in Patanjali’s Sutras or in the discourse between Krishna and Uddhava.

The way to approach these claims is to try to research it yourself, but that is not easy because usually a human being is grossly aware and has only hazy subtle perception. Since it is mostly hazy, people regard psychic phenomena as a farce. There are also people who make false claims about their mystic achievements and so others use those references to say that all the mystic phenomena should be put in the category of fantasy and fraud.

But in Science the same thing happens, even though people rely on science and give it about an 88% credibility rating, as contrasted to a 12% approval for mystic stuffs.

Regarding your dreams:

First of all I think that lucid dreams are those in which the astral body is not displaced out from the physical one. Astral projection is when the subtle body is displaced out of the physical one. But one may have an astral projection and then immediately after find oneself in a lucid dream and visa versa.

In lucid dreaming the individual becomes aware of either the astral form or the astral and physical forms simultaneously. This is in contrast to normal consciousness where the person is not aware of the astral body and feels that everything about himself or herself is a physical existence.

In a situation where you find yourself located in the physical body as usual but you find that you are not acutely aware of that body and instead is distinctly aware of the subtle body which is interspaced in the physical then that is one of the two types of lucid dream experience.  The other type is when you find yourself located in the physical body but you are distinctly and unambiguously aware of the subtle body and of the gross one and you feel that the subtle one is a separate energy form which is interspaced in the physical one.

Another way to look at this is the situation of a live wire. In the live wire there is an invisible but very real current flowing and yet there is no visible change of appearance in the wire. When the current is switched off, the live wire appears to be the same, even though it is quite different since no current is flowing within it.

A lucid dream experience may be compared to the live wire situation, where there is an invisible body of energy inside the physical body and you become aware of that invisible force while it is still interspaced in the body.

Let us take this a step further. Suppose somehow the electricity in the live wire, were to jump out of the wire and flash in the air like a static charge or lightning in a cloud, then that would be a case of astral projection, because the charge has left the wire completely and is experienced outside of it.

I went to the trouble of giving this clarity, so that when you are having an astral experience, you would be clear on that and when the experience changes into lucid dreaming you would be clear on that.

One thing is certain that by convention, we do not note subtle experiences in detail, even though we scrutinize many gross experiences which have absolutely zero spiritual value and which we log with a terrible bit of accuracy.

The amount of money spent by the British monarchy this last week and by the public also, was enough to pay off the debt of several third world countries in one lick, and still none of them mentioned that. The groom who is supposed to be this nice guy and who is repeatedly referenced to his mother, who was supposed to be this pillar of perfection, never considered that if he would give half of his royal silver spoon to a country like Zimbabwe, it could perhaps erase all that countries financial worries for a time.

What would he have gained by doing that? And what did he gain by doing what he did?

We need to pay attention to the astral side more astutely and then our progress will be more rapid because we are then playing the game in the proper way.

Here are a few verses:

From Uddhava Gita:

Those who progressed the farthest in yoga, state that there are eighteen mystic skills, and eighteen types linkage of the attention to eighteen types of concentration forces. Eight of these are prominent in Me, the remaining ten are caused by a particular influence of material nature. (10.3)

Becoming atomic, becoming cosmic, pertains to a form of the yogi, as well as being weightless, acquiring or experiencing through the sense organs of others, enjoying what was heard of and what was seen normally, manipulating mundane potency, ruling over others, (10.4)

By linking his attention with the concentration force of subtle matter, which is in his psyche, and in My subtle body, the worshipper of subtle matter, acquires the ability to assume an atomic form. (10.10)

From Yoga Sutras of Patanjali:

By the complete restraint of the mento-emotional energy, while linking the mind to the relationship between the body and the sky and linking the attention to being as light as cotton fluff, a yogi acquires the ability to pass through the atmosphere. (Yoga Sutras 3.43)

Sometimes the entire astral body shrinks to an atomic size. Sometimes the astral body remains its usual size which is about the size of a human form, and then the astral body enables an atomic vision.

Usually, these experiences happen at random and suddenly without personal control in the life of a yogi. What Krishna and Patanjali described in the verses given above has to do with the deliberate assumption of those special mystic powers by a yogi.

Way back in 1973, I was once using the astral body and suddenly a probe like a proboscis emerged from the third eye place and through it I began to see things on the microscopic level. While that probe was in effect, I could not see anything on the normal size scale. I could only see through the probe and could only see as if a microscope was strapped unto my third eye.

The astral body has many unusual abilities and one should have confidence in that with the understanding that in certain dimensions, it becomes changed and that causes various types of skills.

To me the most important part of your experiences is the invisible force which had you in touch with the lady but only for a certain time and then the force broke off.

A few months ago, a friend called me and was asking about how to get a spouse. This is a person who has become desperate for a wife but who cannot find a suitable one.

I told him that looking for a wife like that is similar to being all alone on an asteroid out in space and wanting to have seeds and soil and rain for the purpose of getting food in the belly for survival. It is just not going to happen.

One has to realize that a spouse is already born and was already brought into the adult body stage by others. It has to be there already, because one is not in a position to create it outright. But what is the invisible force which created that would-be spouse and will it put that man in touch with that woman, and when, and for how long?

Something applies the adhesive power to bring the two people together and that same something or someone just might withdraw that power, then what?

In the astral experience, it lasted for a short time but actually that might be a lifetime if it had occurred on the earth. What we experience as a lifetime on earth, might be experienced as a moment or two in the astral world in some of its accelerated dimensions.

Sometimes it does happen, that just before passing from the body, a person has a flash in the mind and sees his or her entire life in a second, just as if the whole thing was just happening for a moment only, even though it was experienced as 70 or 80 years in the physical world.
