Please advice on this in reference to improving my meditation practice and overcoming anxiety stress:
Usually when an intrusive thought arise (formed or not yet formed) anxiety arises. I get in a sort of panic mode. My first instinct is to create immediately another thought and put my feelings into that one so that the intrusive thought which holds much more energy and force will go away.
MiBeloved's Response:
The only way I could help you with this is if you agree to re-train yourself. I cannot give you a quick method or a magic procedure. If you want to work on this in yourself and take credit for the hard work, then I can assist you.
First of all you are making a serious misidentification here by thinking or even feeling that you are in charge of the reactive way of dealing with this. This reactive way is the natural way and you are just signing on to it. It was not designed by you but was designed by psychic nature, or in yoga we would say this method is the method of the kundalini in its instinctive operations.
Your first step in this is to sit in meditation and study what is actually taking place as to where and from what area of the psyche, the second thought arises. The observing self is not producing this thought but it is creating an energy space in which this thought is produced.
You have to study this in mediation in slow motion, so that you can see what the observing self is doing and what else is happening.
Once you can segregate the observing self from the thought producing mechanism, then I can advise you further.
Please work on this and get back to me as to what you discover.

What if the only thought is the arised intrusive thought? If there isn't another thought besides that, as my instincts tell me, should I create my own one? As instinct that's the easiest choice to run away from the stronger intrusive thought. It takes more energy however to create every time an image, almost like straining. however if I don't create an alternative thought with an image the other one gets stronger and sucks me like a black hole into it.
MiBeloved's Response:
So if you are sucked into a black hole, okay but what happens after this. As the observing self can you tell me what happens after this. Let us go over the sequence which you described above.
It begins with a thought and then if no other thoughts arise to counteract or negate that original first thought, then you are sucked into the first thought which is like a black hole. Okay, but you did not explain what happens after that.
How are you released from the black hole? What happens after that? Please give details.
Let us run this by again. We go to the Amusement part where there is a roller coaster. We buy tickets. We get on the ride and wait for it to begin. After about five minutes, it starts at a slow speed. Gradually it increases in velocity and then it goes high up in the air at a very steep incline. We are scared shitless and one of our friends begins screaming while another smells awful because he actually shits his pants. Then the ride gets faster on a downgrade steep incline. This lasts for 8 minutes and then the ride slows to a halt.
The employees at the lift ramp unbuckled our harnesses and we get off. We are all visibly shaken but to save our face, we act as if nothing happened. We put smiles on our faces because some people who are lined up to buy tickets are looking at us. We do not want to give them any idea about the trauma of the ride.
Behind us there is a lady who is being taken off the ramp on a stretcher. She died on the ride from a heart attack. We pretend that we are not interested but actually we all feel that the ride was too traumatic. We wish if we could have stopped the ride and maybe that woman would still be alive.
After this our group takes public transport to our respective homes.
So what really happened?
Who built the ride?
Who set the various speeds?
How is the machine controlled?
What is behind the metal panels and under the ground where engines operate to power the machine?
How were we attracted to it?
Why could we not stop it once we realized that it would be so traumatic?

When listening to naad many times in a session I feel that a thought is about to form which already causes me to have anxiety in a sort of panic mode not knowing what to do. Because of that I lose my attention listening to naad.
What do you recommend to do in such case?
MiBeloved's Response:
So why are you listening to naad in the first place. If it is because of yourself, giving an instruction to yourself, then stop listening to naad because you are wasting your time, because you do not have the strength to listen to naad and not to be seriously distracted.
You cannot go and arrest people without your policeman badge which shows that you have a whole legal system of government behind you. Just by himself a policeman has no authority to arrest anyone. No one will listen to him when he is dressed in plain clothes. Why should they?
I listen to naad on the basis of my yoga gurus. Because they instructed me to do it and because of that reinforcement from their instruction, I can fight off any thoughts which arise.
So my recommendation is that you take help from a yoga guru and study naad, listen to naad on the basis of that instruction, just as a child who goes to school. The child has no interest in sitting all morning long listening to some drab lesson about English or Math. And the child has no understanding about the value of education which will manifest later on in his life, as a good job. So the child goes to school because the parents are making it a requirement.
Spiritual life is not going to take off if we feel that we can do it by ourselves because the fact is that we do not know anything about the other side, the spiritual side. We are familiar with this side. So based on confidence in the yoga-guru we are making this effort to reach the other side, even though we have no perception of it.
The child is having confidence in the parent even though the child has no idea what it is to have to pay for rent, utilities, health insurance and all such things which are required in the civilized world.
So like that if you go to be with naad just based on your own strength you cannot make the grade because you are just not powerful enough by yourself to fight off the thought chatter of the mind.
Many of us were in the US in the 1960s when many yogis came over from India. One such yogi was Kirpal Singh. You can get information about him on a Google search. He told us to listen to naad which he terms as the sound current. But many of us thought like this,
“What the fuck does he know? How will be become enlightened just by listening to some sound in our heads? Maybe we hear that because our ear canal has some disease?”
So like this we could not appreciate naad. But later when we became humble, we again went to him. This time we had to see him astrally because his body has passed on. This time it was different. We saw him as an old father, a spiritual source and so we listened to him and his words give us the extra power and we were able to listen to naad.

More information by the student of his mind process during meditation:

Student’s Reply:
Once a thought is about to form, immediately impulsion arise, the observing self is standing on its guard. like a sperm which in a hurry swims to the egg. it starts to analyse and scan the former thought, at that phase uncomfortable feelings starts to arise. however it needs to finish scanning the thought so as the observer I will perceive and get information what the thought is about. the observer self gets caught and bound to the energy thought and is stuck there unless finding a way out. that's why when that happens and creating an imaginary thought and if it's strong enough the observer the core-self will end up going to that one which is wrong by itself in a way but it's a shelter.

Being absorbed by the black hole, the mind is fighting with great strength the powerful thought in all means to escape the black hole and not be completely sucked in by it. while fighting the thought doing everything so the observer self will stop itself from completely analysing and scanning the energy thought, the more parts of the thought that gets scanned and perceived by me is like getting shot, the thought fights back. the observer self is like downloading a file/data which contains viruses, by completing the download I will perceive the viruses that file data contains. so let's say if I don't get released from the black hole and it's done downloading the virus.. like a man that accidentally killed someone feels that he is doomed for good, there is no way out for him, even if he were to move to another dimension the thought of having killed someone will follow him forever. in the end you get released from the black hole but with enough damage like leftovers of a hurricane. fighting or not fighting the thought in the end as instinct it's all about escaping and not letting the observer observe it. the observer will do everything to get even just a small glimpse!

Student’s Reply:
I listen to naad sound to try and reach a higher level of conscious, deities or environment however this statement is very ridiculous right now.
I am listening to naad to be fed on its energy. so my core-self will move to other directions be trouble free from social associations or just any other thoughts that arise. making my mind listen to naad to be much more familiar with it and gain much more interest. in particular I am not expecting for any nice sensations to experience during meditating, just having a good session of meditation without much disturbances.
It doesn't matter which meditation I were to pick up, this distraction follows me even in daily activities.
Those powerful intrusive thoughts are much more compulsive, holding a great impulse than the normal thought pattern that people hold which doesn't contain as much energy, like swaying little flies with your hand.
I am doing 45 minutes of naad sound meditation and you are probably right that it's a waste of time if many times I have to bring my attention back to the sound. but I can't just give up on meditation because of that.
Like you mentioned, like a child that doesn't know what it is to pay rent I hold my trust and confidence and those who had success with naad sound.
To sum it up like I mentioned above, in the end my only interest with meditation is to reach a higher state of condition with its deities and environment, to reach a high degree of Pratyahara and not for the cure of this disorder, else I could just have taken medication for it and end of story which obviously would have ruined whole spiritual progress. but I guess to make any further progress I have to take care of that in someway, after all that's something that got to be withdrawn in the end.
Note: I indicated the observer self to do the analysing of the thought, but I forgot that the buddhi intellect is actually responsible for that.. so I guess both of them are working together?

MiBeloved’s Response:
The next step concerns your last statement about the buddhi intellect organ. Until you can create a disunity (not a unity, you already have that) between the core-self and the buddhi organ, you cannot make any progress. To achieve this study chapter 1 of the Meditation Pictorial book and do that practice for about 6 months and then get back to me, If you have any difficulty following the diagrams, please make inquiries about it.
