Third Eye Focus Update

While I visited with Neil Crenshaw, Arthur Beverford asked me to explain this kriya. It concerns third eye focus. Apparently Beverford was instructing Neil in the astral world but Neil has no recall of it.
In any case the original instruction which Beverford gave to both myself and Sir Paul way back in the early 1970’s was just to sit to meditate and then focus on the center of the eyebrows. This instruction came down from Rishi Singh Gherwal, who was Beverford’s yoga teacher.
I adapted the practice and discovered methods of improving on it. In any case, Beverfold gave this update:
While meditating on third eye, slowly locate the optic energy and retract that into the core self.
Why was this update given? Well I did not ask Beverford for the reason. But it is this:
Sometimes while focusing on the third eye the practice proves to be counter-productive since the focusing energy energizes the thought-formation powers of the mind. In other words there might be an increase in thoughts and ideas because of the increased focus in the frontal part of the brain.
Beverford says that this problem is solved by retracting the optic energy while doing third eye focus. So that implies that the optic energy is the main trigger which activates impulsive thinking during third eye meditation focus.
As requested by Beverford, I explained this procedure to Neil recently but I felt that others might require it, so here is a diagram:
Notice the black arrow which points to the core-self. That represents the optic energy going back into the core self.
Notice also that the third eye focusing energy is spread out. This is because that is the way the energy is usually fanned out when it is directed to third eye. Ideally, this energy should be made with a single ray of attention energy but this ideal is not usually the case.
