The non-absolute Self

Srila Yogeshwarananda wanted to explain that a twofold action is required if the yoga is not already in a trance state, in a samadhi application.
===============
He said the following:
The entity is autonomous but it is also reliant at the same time. It is not an absolute value. This means that its existence is reliant even though it has this sense of self-purpose.
In meditation, when you adhere to naad, there is this active side which keeps coming up time and time again. The adherence to naad takes care of the passive side of the self since naad is produced naturally and is there for the taking. However apart from the passive side which finds it consolation in naad sound, there is the active part of the self.
What should be done with that active part?
Of course some yogis feel that it should be made inactive by some method, even by a command through willpower. However that does not work, because the active side is what it is, a side that requires usage in action.
Hence the yogi can use this active side to pull in the energy which courses outward naturally. The introspective expression of the self should be on naad sound. The extrospective expression of the self should be pulling back the energies which courses outwards.
This is a secret practice. I tell you this but when I meditated, I discovered this. I got help from yoga gurus but still some things I discovered somehow by divine grace.
