The Neck and Meditation

One area that really needs to be addressed in Hatha Yoga practice is the neck area, not just the spine in the neck but even the fleshy parts of it. Energy needs to be passing freely through the neck into the head.

In the elderly years we find that the neck becomes more and more clogged, the brain becomes more and more starved for oxygen because the veins and arteries passing through the neck become more and more constricted. This results in mild or severe dementia as the brain cells shut down more and more.

However, that is the physical body.

What about the subtle body?

Is this happening also in the subtle body where subtle energy is not passing freely through the neck?

How does this affect the relationship between the kundalini at muladhara chakra and the consciousness in the subtle head?

Does it matter if the subtle neck is also blocked and only a trickle of energy passes between the trunk of the subtle body and the head of it?

What does meditation have to do with this?
