The first book on the page is the place to begin since that is a biography. From that book you will get some idea of his austerities and then according to your interest you can check through the other books. Nice thing is that it is online so you do not have to purchase the books if you do not want to.

This yogin did give me some help. He is one of the few Buddhist meditation masters who conquered the subtle and very vague territory of the mind.

Mind control has little to do with what religion or God you are following or believe in. It is simply effective strategy for mental conquest.
