I became aware of naad sound and then could see images flashing before my eyes at a tremendous speed. There were more than one rim going by, but not located at the same exact space. They were going by so fast I could barely see the content. These images (and some lettering were located in the central part of the head; between the location I'd attribute to the core-self and the third eye.

The development of supernatural insight is the reason for the stipulation of Patanjali about yogah cittavritti nirodhah. It means that as soon as the cittavritti is shut down, there is the likelihood of developing supernatural perception, which is not imagination in the mind but which uses the same psychic organ which produces such imagination. The default position of that analytical organ, that imagination producer is half way between the core self and the third eye between the eyebrows.
This organ can be seen, but rarely. Mostly the yogi has to know this organ by its operations, just as a man in a dark cave who sits looking will see nothing until something flashes somewhere. In the mind one will see nothing initially if all the cittavritti are shut down. But one can know this organ by its activity.
Suppose you are sitting in a dark cave somewhere within the earth. It is pitch black and there is no way you can see anything. But then suddenly a flash occurs in the distant and then certain other images appear there.
Then even through you cannot visually see what those images are flashing in, still you can understand with confidence that they are being produced by something which is located where the flashes are seen.
Therefore a student must be observant to know where the supernatural vision is occurring, if it is occurring at the third eye or at the space midway between the third eye brows. If it occurs at that space which is midway, it means that it is being done by the psychic organ which produces thoughts and imagination. This is known as buddhi in Sanskrit.
This is what happens if the yogi can shut down the operation of this organ for some time while he listens to naad sound or while the mind is completely vacant, then this organ will change to the supernatural function which gives supernatural perceptions.

For those in doubt about this, to understand that this is an organ, one should try to do what is called daydreaming. When this is done, one will see images either near or far away in the mind, as if these images are in the mind and not in the mind at the same time. These daydream images are displayed in that buddhi organ.
How does one know this is not just one’s imagination?
One has to know that by being honest. If you cannot discern what is the mind’s imagination and what is its perception, then you have to study your sensual perception to figure it out.
Patanjali has outlawed imagination and visualization, and yet many people who teach meditation recommend this. Anyway in so far as we are following Patanjali, we should not indulge in imagination and visualization but should instead shut down these operations. If one can do that, and then wait in the naad sound, the psychic organ to develop and display the supernatural insight. The Sanskrit terms for this is jnana-dipa or jnana-chakshu.

Naad sound resounds all around in the mind field.
During meditation attempt attention was put to the right side were there was a clear sounding node. It went from a bell sounding to a ringing.
There was also a source at the left which seemed almost at the opposite end of the right.

During meditation attempt attention was put to the left side were there was a ringing sounding node.
There was also a source at the left not as distinct just a dense area.
