The three main obstacles in breath infusion practice are the front navel region, the pubic area and the base chakra region itself. If these three places are clarified, meaning that if the dark heavy astral energy there is removed, then yoga can be practiced in earnest in terms of the second sutra of Patanjali which is a request for stopping the vritti vibrational modes of the intellect and the kundalini.
Of the five vibrational modes, two are especially bothersome. These are memory and sleep. The other three are easy to tackle and target because those are realized as operations of the intellect alone. Those three are:
Correct perception
Incorrect perception
Imagination
If the intellect is conquered, then these three are licked in one stroke but that still leaves the other two which are memory and sleep. Memory is not stored in the intellect but its visibility is shown by the intellect. If the intellect is silenced then memory will be silenced indirectly for the want of an illustrator but the memory may still be there in dormancy (in the subconscious zone).
Sleep is completely controlled and operated by the kundalini. That makes it necessary to do kundalini yoga to tackle the vritti of sleep.
Breath infusion if done efficiently in the subtle body causes the accomplishments of kundalini treatment, memory wash-out and intellect shut down and then Patanjali’s request for stopping the vrittis of the mind can become a reality at least in the meditation one does immediately after a full breath infusion.
The frontal navel area, the pubic zone and the sacral regions of the subtle body must be conquered before one can make a claim about mastering the Patanjali meditation process. If these areas are not cleared of dense astral energy, then one will not be able to fully quell the vritti vibrational modes of the mind, because these areas will continue to sponsor the disturbances no matter what one visualizes, hopes for or imagines in the mind.
Trying to control the vrittis by will power or by visualization or by imagination or by grace of Whoever is a questionable procedure because Patanjali gave 8 parts to the yoga system. All parts are necessary as far as I can see.
