Well i was doing a martial arts training, where you do abdominal breathing..i would meditate but focus on the breathing in my abdomen..this is a system to fill up the bulb,, they call it the Dan Tien or Yang Embryo... And then i did a practice where i would push in my stomach...it is a way to condense the energy in the bulb...basically after that i would meditate....one day after losing my essence i meditated and i cracked...losing essence is known to weaken the bulb...and when the kundalini rises in meditation...the swadasina chakra activates and spins the energy in the bulb...if the bulb is weakened it can crack...basically i have to stop raising my kundalini for about a month and use raiki to heal the bulb...from my experience it heals like a physical wound...the only difference is that it is in a another dimension...I am still not healed but i believe i am making progress...i wasn’t sure if you have encountered this before or maybe your guru...i think i am going about the healing process correctly..but it is hard to be sure because there is no information about it....the master of the system i was learning warned me about it...but has no idea what to do if it happens.

MiBeloved's Response:

It is not a good idea to use methods which you cannot correct or which the teacher cannot take responsibility to correct. This is a violation of the teaching code. Actually you are doing harm to that teacher if you encourage him to give you techniques which he only partially mastered.

There is a story in the Mahabharata about Ashvattama who released a sound bomb which was so dangerous that it was threatening everyone everywhere according to the Mahabharata. He intended to kill the Pandavas with it. After they realized that the sound weapon was released, Krishna told Arjuna to withdraw the weapon.

Ashvattama knew how to send it out but he did not know how to recall it. So this is called being irresponsible. It brings bad karma to the student and to the teacher involved. Therefore in the future if you suspect that a master does not have proficient in a method, do not pressure him to give it to you. Be kind to your teachers. Do not push them to break the rules of the lineage.

Dan Shien (tien) is a valid practice but the student should not do the down push until after he or she has mastered the up pull. Then it should not be applied unless the student can hold the up pull while doing the down push. Both must be applied at the same time, otherwise the pressure will cause the energy to split outwards in a downward direction and the student will lose vital force from this.

What is my advice?

Forget about the down push for about 2 years. Practice the up-pull to pull energy up under the sex kanda, so that it emits itself in an upward direction through the center of the body. See the diagram.

When this is mastered and when it seems that the kanda has lost its interest in the lower area, then you can resume that practice. And then it will not cause any problems.

I am not in the Taoist lineage in this life but I was in many former lives. In this life I made an effort to find teachers in China in 2006. I did not find any advanced masters even though I went to three old temples in China. When I returned to the USA, I found a used copy of Taoist Yoga by Charles Lux. That book is valid about the ancient practices.

Even though I am not in the lineage in this life, I am in the lineage because of the history of my being in it in past lives and also because the kriya practice which I use is the same system of practice but with the Indian cultural approach.

MiBeloved's Response:

Losing essence?

Does this mean losing sexual fluids?

If it does then consider this. Taoist system was developed in Chinese culture where there was a belief in reincarnation and a dedication to ancestors. Once when I used to be in the Hare Krishna movement, one of their leading sannyasis used to ridicule the Chinese like this:

“Their religion consists of ancestral worship. For them the ancestors are God.”

Actually it was an unfair and ungainly statement but it has some truth in it. And of course modern Chinese are not into the traditions of the elders from years ago. Moa Tse Tung scrapped all types of religion and whatever else did not serve as an accessory to his version of Communism. I saw firsthand in 2006 some neglected surviving Taoist temples. Whatever is left stands like a fossil, something the Chinese government sees as a fit tourist attraction?

So if you are doing the Taoist system, what have you learnt about your obligation to the ancestors, specifically the ancestors of your present body. Because if you are not getting information about that, then it is not really the Taoist system, it is something else, or it is a part of the system which will get you into trouble.

How did you lose essence?

What does nature use the essence for?

How are the ancestors related to it?

Do the ancestors own part of the essence which you feel is your own only?

Do they want to use their part for their own purposes, which you intend to frustrate?

Can yoga really help us to buffer ancestral obligations?
