Subtle Body Caught Doing Yoga

From an email:

Hey Michael!

Last night I had a dream in which I was doing bhastrika and other asanas.  During the practice I was directing the infused energy to the base of the first chakra (I guess all of your postings on getting rid of this base have had a subconscious influence). The practice felt soooooo real that when I woke up in the physical side I really believed that I had woken up earlier and done the practice.

My questions are:

Can you do the practice of bhastrika and meditation in the astral world?

If so, what "air" are you breathing in since there is no air in the astral world?

Can you still make advancement by practicing in the astral world or do you need to be in the physical plane to advance?

I remember that the energy accumulated differently...like I could see or feel a sort of ball accumulating with every breath and I could sense it moving through the base...this energy actually had a more physical sensation than when I do the practice fully awake with my physical body...in other words this practice in the dream world was more vivid and more dynamic.

MiBeloved’s Response:

There is air in the astral world. It is subtle air. If something has physical existence, it has to have an astral counterpart, otherwise it cannot exist. If we go to physics in the world of science, everything physical which we are having like earth and metal came from very subtle materials which existed before the so called Big Bang. And then in the end this earth will vaporize and become nothing again, with nothing really meaning something that is so subtle that to our sensual perception it is nothing or void.

It is great though to hear that somebody is getting some inspiration to practice in the subtle body, after reading some of the posts on this forum. That is great. Keep it up. When one becomes proficient at doing exercises in the subtle body one becomes qualified to go with the siddhas in the astral world.

It is a great achievement to cause the subtle body to do practice in the astral world. Usually the subtle body is into sense enjoyment in the subtle world and it is not interested in any type of yoga discipline. So for you this is really great.
