Students challenge the Yoga-guru

For the last week at least, I was working with Swami Rama on the Agnisara practice. Some yogis feel that if one completes this practice, one will be able to resist having to take another body whimsically.
This practice concerns the navel and the way one took nutrients from the mother’s body while being an embryo. If that system is still in place at the time of death of the physical form, it will immediately act in the subtle body to prompt another rebirth without respect to one’s spiritual needs. One will be careless in attraction to the new parents and this will be a setback when one gets the new body.
This morning Swami Rama was showing how to complete that practice. He came astrally with two of his students, two males. From the appearance of the subtle forms of the students, I could tell that they still have physical bodies. The Swami has none at this time.
As he showed me a technique, one of the students said this, “You never showed us that. We did not know that you do that. Since when that is part of the practice?”
With a curt smile, he replied, “What do you know about my practice?“
The student said, “But Guruji, we know this is not your practice, what you show this one, because we are with you all the time and we never saw you practice this. It is strange that you know this and this yogi does what you tell him.”
The Swami then said, “You cannot see everything an accomplished yogi does. You do not know anything about my practice.”
The swami showed me that if the effort to perceive is totally internalized, then the yogi will see in all the parts of his psyche and will by that get practices for the purification of the psyche.
“Kundalini, he said, “must be completely curbed”
“Then the yogi can use prana to clean out the subtle body, all parts of it, not just the spine and head. First get rid of the nuisance kundalini. Then use prana to directly clean up the system. Dismiss the kundalini and take the tasks of purification into your own hands.”
