On the astral side of this existence, Srila Yogeshwarananda showed me a special process this morning which is used for siddha-applicants in training them how to get pass the allurements of the Swarga loka angelic realms.
Many yogis who do not go through this training never make it as siddhas because of failure to transcend the celestial allurements. These energies are pleasure forces which make even sexual intercourse in a human body seems like lemon juice.
After leaving the physical body for good, if a yogi has practiced sufficiently then his subtle body will assume a high energy astral state, and he will feel as if he is rising in the atmosphere, or if he was versed in internal kriya yoga, he will feel as if he is being propelled through an inner space.
At a certain point there will be with him angelic beings and even deities from the higher astral world. However in that association he will be touched with a pearly atmospheric substance which is called amrita in the Vedic literatures. For most of these student yogis, this amrita is the cause of their downfall back to the lower astral regions but some of them go into the Swarga angelic world of the Indra Devata, a controller of a paradise astral domain. There such student yogis usually pair off with an angelic person of the opposite sex and begin enjoying heavenly delights.
Needless to say, the sexual intercourse there is legendary and it last for days with no end to the pleasure derived. It is so intense and so upgrade that sexual intercourse as we experience it now is considered in comparison to be like sweet rice (kheer) which has urine, pepper and sand mixed into it.
Unfortunately student yogis, who are not prepared for this, become overwhelmed by the amrita energy in their subtle bodies and so they lose the vision of being a siddha and no longer experience the drive to be with advanced yogis.
After sometime when the effect-force of their austerities in the last life, are exhausted, they again find themselves in the lower astral world and feel drawn to a birth environment on earth. And then such yogis, fallen brats, come out again as someone’s infant and then struggle again to take up yoga austerities.
To avoid this circular passage back into being a human embryo, a student yogi has to do what is called the squeeze-out practice. This is where when the kundalini energy rises during pranayama practice, the yogis applies the bandhas, special locks and squeeze the bliss aspect of these energies. It is especially useful as a practice when a yogi has evaporated out the kundalini shakti’s sushumna nadi. Then the tiny nadi channels can be discovered and when the infused energy flushes these nadis and they begin to bleed bliss energies, the yogi should apply inner psychic locks and compress this energy.
This causes an increase resistance to the bliss aspects, so that later after leaving the body, the yogi is not overwhelmed by the paradise atmosphere of the Swarga angelic world. That yogi can bypass that zone and head for siddha loka safely.
A student yogi who becomes attracted to the amrita pleasure energies is done for already and has postponed his advent to the siddha loka place for the next human birth. But it is doubtful that in the next birth, he or she will be able to complete the necessary austerities.

Dean's comment: Sounds like material nature's last ditch effort to have you remain in this zone and spend several lives trying to regain your spiritual footing.

Dean's comment: Can this be seen as the reformed alcoholic? The man who used to continually hang out in bars/clubs drinking vast amounts of alcoholic drinks. One day the guy reaches his limit because of near fatal experience. Commits to rehabbing his self and is successful in doing so. Now he has the energy to resist those temptations by avoiding the streets that lead me pass the bar. It might be the long way around but it's well worth taking the time.

The alcoholic analogy is suitable!

Interesting perspective.
