Journey of the Soul:
The soul has a journey and it is pre-destined. It selects its longitude and latitude to be born. It selects its geography; its space, its protective, nurturing essence of the parents; mother and father, and its environments. All the aspects, all the events that happen in the first seven years are set. It is like when you have a book. Let us say somebody has a sixty page book that's called "Life". Every page has to be turned and every page has to be read. Every page has to be gone through and has to be understood. In between, there will be things you highlight-the things you like. There will be things that bring tears to your life, and there will be things that are dreadful. Things that are right and things that are wrong. So, let us say that life proceeds like a book. Elementary tomorrow is already in existence. You have to walk on it...............Yogi Bhajan.
MiBeloved’s Response:
The soul has a journey and it is pre-destined.
Soul has potential which requires environment for expression. According to the allowances in the environment, the soul can perform. It is not independent of environment. It cannot express what the environment will not support.
In that sense its cast of possibilities is predestined. It is circumspect within the environmental responses to its desire.

Caroline’s Request:
Michael, next time you meet Yogi bhajan in the astral perhaps you could ask him for clarification. I'm not trying to be facetious here, I think it would be interesting.
Yogi bhajan's statement agrees with what I was taught in shamanism, that the soul writes its own book of life, chooses the parents etc. to best get the lesson it needs. If nothing else this viewpoint helps to get us out of a victim mentality.
MiBeloved’s Response:
I saw Yogi Bhajan this past week, because of teaching a student who had got some instructions in the kundalini yoga practice from one of his disciples some time ago. Usually when I see him it has to do with someone else's practice where he wants me to check to see how that person is advancing and to give advice on how that person can better proceed. He does also on occasion show me some kriya which is expressly for my benefit.
However I do not have that sort of relationship with him where out of the blues I can ask him questions like that. Usually with a yoga guru of his stature, the advanced students do not ask questions and cannot ask questions on behalf of others.
The relationship is such that he has something to say and we are more or less mute.
Why? Because we have reached a stage of confidence, where he is the Old Father, Dada. We are the sons and daughters. He knows what we need. He provides instruction at his leisure. We make no demands.
We practice singly and are not concerned with others, and do not have disciples, no more than infants have spouses or progeny. We took a commitment to practice on ourselves and not to become gurus in our own right.
That is the relationship. Once you get into that sort of relationship, your psyche just cannot ask questions. In his presence, it just cannot do that. The question asking part of the psyche is nonexistent on the plane of that relationship.

However I can share with you something that you could do. Sit to meditate after doing some breath infusion. It does not have to be a real intense session. Then immediately sit before his photo. Stare at the photo for about 30 seconds. Then close your eyes and offer him some cordial respect but this should be respect that is really there because you feel you benefited from his teachings or practices.
Then just meditate allowing yourself to relax within.
Usually in that meditation you will get a feeling that you have the answer to your question and a verbal read out will occur in your mind.

This method will work for you but it won’t work for me because I cannot put myself in that position. He will reply to you for sure!
Good luck!
