A quick way to enter sleep paralysis?
Hello everyone!
I had a very interesting experience just a moment ago, I was sitting here in my office practicing meditation mixed with sleep breathing.
The idea that drove me to this was if it is possible to induce sleep paralysis while still being awake and with open eyes ....
now ... it sort of worked... I was staring at my computer while breathing as if I was asleep and my body did become very relaxed.. but so did my eyes and everything became kinda blurred so I closed them.
... this is where I started to black out for second at a time.. you know .. like when you are really tired and your head just drops! This happened maybe 3 or four times and I was almost giving up because I didn't want anyone to find me sleeping at work ^^;
But ... I always give up too easily so this time I decided that I wouldn't give in to laziness!! And to my surprise I got the feeling of how my body was fading away starting at the center of my body and somewhat surrounding me just waiting for permission to continue (I kinda held it at bay).
Is it possible that this "fading away" feeling was sleep paralysis kicking in? Or might it have been something else?
In any case I think I will try this many more times as it doesn't require a lot of time or a silent environment

I don't think that it was sleep paralysis coming on. I feel it was just the normal course of going to sleep. The difference is that this time you were able to maintain consciousness as the observer in the psyche, for a longer time than usual.
Usually one is not able to observe these psychic operations just before sleep or just before blacking out. In this case you did that to a certain point.
To fine tune this meditation would be a great help.
To be sure, sleep paralysis is when the astral body desynchronized from the physical body and you are still aware of both forms. In that case, since your will power was transferred into the astral body, you find that you cannot operate the physical one and that inability is interpreted by the mind as sleep paralysis.
In your experience, you had not made a full transfer into the astral form. You were observing instead what happens to your objective mind just before that transfer occurs.
Bear in mind that all of this occurs naturally on a daily basis. It is only the observation of it which is usually lacking.
It happens of its own accord irrespective of the person's will power or desire.
Astral projection is really the conscious observation of a nature process. Astral projection is already happening on a daily basis but we become aware of it when our objective consciousness shifts into an observer perspective during the projection.
Astral projection is really one of Nature's great secrets which She hides from our conscious mind.
