During a call this morning the question about the shaking during kundalini yoga exercises came up.
During kundalini exercises when kundalini raises or moved into another part of the body, one might be inclined to shake or to straighten a certain part of the body so as to facilitate kundalini’s movement through the subtle form.
Why is this necessary?
Well it is not necessary but it would facilitate one’s yoga efforts and would cause certain clogged nadis (subtle arteries) to be cleared.
It might be compared to running water through a kinked garden hose. If a hose has several kinks, certain kinks will straighten by the water pressure which courses through the hose, when those are straightened the hose will move but those kinks which are more defined will not be released.
The gardener can handle the hose to release those kinks or he might yank on the hose to do the same thing, just as a yogi might shiver the body or shake a certain part of it to cause kundalini to flow unrestrictedly through the subtle form.
Why would a yogi not just use visualization or will power to release the kinks?
The answer is that some of the kinks do not respond to the will power or to imagination energy.
