Just after breath infusion practice this morning, during the first part of the meditation session, Srila Yogeshwarananda, whom I had not seen for some weeks, appeared on the astral side. He said he wanted to explain vajroli/amaroli.

This is what he said:

There are three parts to the sex lock but initially there is only one sex lock for the student which is to pull up the urinary muscle. Usually when a novice does this, there automatically occurs a full sex lock but initially this does not have any effect on the person’s practice, because the system is not responsive to such a muscular action.

By doing pranayama practice, the system becomes responsive to the lock. Persons who are super-sensitive in the sexual sense may find that the lock triggers more sexual desire but if such persons do the pranayama practices which are related to controlling this area, that sensitivity will no longer be a problem.

Over time, the student will feel an effect from these locks. For those who are serious about making a siddha yoga body, it becomes necessary to find these three parts of the sex lock and to be sure that they are executed to remove the sex desire from the subtle form.

Failure to do this will result in leaving the physical body at death, and then going to the Swarga angelic world for the highest. Then due to the sex attraction there, the person will ascend no further and will come back near the earth in time to get another body. To understand how this works, one should read the Anu Gita, but there are other books in the Vedic corpus which explains these circumstances in detail.

Eventually a yogi will have to do astral travels to explore the regions of the subtle world. Then whatever was read in valid literatures will be verified. Fortunate are those who can do this before the physical body dies.

In the center of the sex area of the subtle body there is a bulb of energy which is called a kanda. When this is put under pressure by the lock, its location is the central location of the sex lock. Going backwards from this place about half inch, one will reach the pleasure area of the sex lock. Going forward, one will reach the urge impetus area.

All of this needs to be neutralized and pranayama is the way to get these areas adjusted.
