Sex Kanda Kriya / Muktananda

MiBeloved 5 years ago

During breath infusion which I did for an hour at least, Swami Muktananda was there on the astral side. He was mostly mumbling to himself about his inability to actually make any enlightened souls in the developed countries of the United States and Europe. He was really distressed about it.

During the session he showed me a kanda bulb up-jump kriya. There is more than one kanda bulb in the subtle body but the main one which is the concern of students who are working to assume yoga siddha bodies is the sex kanda. Here is some information about the sex kanda from a site:

19. Kanda is situated between the anus and the root of the reproductive organ. It is like the shape of an egg. It is the centre of the astral body. The Yoga-Nadis spring from Kanda.

This particular kriya is possible if the student can perceive the kanda. Even if one knows the location of it, even then one can make it up-jump if one cannot perceive it through prana vision. Pranavision is infused astral energy which has reached a highly charged state. When one looks through or into that energy, one may develop a perception. A student should not be skeptical about this. If it happens, then accept it as a means of perception.

At room temperature a metal-like iron is a solid and it is dense. It has little if any perceptive qualities. If you heat it sufficiently, it will turn red hot and will glow a bit. If you increase the temperate then it will turn white hot, then it will melt. It changes then and has perceptive qualities. Sitting as a cold material on a table it does not perceive anything and does not respond to anything but as soon as it turns white hot, it becomes responsive to everything. It actually begins to move and reacts to whatever it makes contact with. When doing breath infusions something like this happens if one infuses sufficiently, where perception occurs through the infused energy at a certain stage of its intensity.

When one sees the bulb it will be semitransparent and will have a white-yellow color. It will have an oval shape like an egg. In some experiences it appears to be like an onion bulb of a leek plant, meaning that it has a globe on the bottom with a few roots hanging down and has a thick stem coming out of the top of it.

Muktananda caused the bulb to jump into a space in the throat and then he told me to do the same thing. He did this to the sex kanda in my body and then I did the same. There was no resistance from the bulb. It came up by a will power action. As soon as it entered the space in the throat area, it disappeared as if it was swallowed and was instantly vaporized.

When I first did this, the bulb reappeared after a few seconds at the bottom of the trunk of the body. Then I did it again three more times and then it did not reappear. During these actions I was simultaneously continuing the breath infusion, either doing a run of rapid breaths or stopping on an exhale and pulling up the locks very tightly. Sometimes I twisted to one side and then to the corresponding other side, to cause kundalini to move up through some nadi channels.

Swami Muktananda made a remark which I record here:

“The throat space gap and the reproductive mechanisms are connected. They work together so that the reproductive mechanism sends instruction to the throat for what should be put into the body, what is to be swallowed. Eventually as one advances one will have to eliminate the kanda. If this is not done, then one will have to go back down and begin begetting in some species again.

“If the throat remains submissive to the sex kanda, then one cannot at any stage become liberated because the psyche will be oriented to reproduction in creature existence. It is a decision for the yogi to make, regarding which world he or she wants to exist in. Existence will be there, you can be sure. It is just a matter of which existence, where.”

============================

After this session, I sat to meditate. I spent 45 minutes in a tight lotus but again I do not recommend this unless the student’s limbs can tolerate this posture as an easy pose. Otherwise one should sit comfortably. After those 45 minutes I unwrapped the legs out of lotus. I had to wait about five minutes for blood flow to resume. Then I sat for another 30 minutes on a couch which was much more comfortable.

Yogeshwaranand has left an instruction about my assumption of lotus every day. Therefore I am forced to do this to comply with his directions but that does not mean that others should torture themselves with this. I started doing lotus since in 1970 when I used to lock myself in a metal locker in a barracks on Clark Air Base in the Philippines. It was very painful then but I was determined to make my new body do it. I had mastered it before in many previous bodies and I was aware of my former practice. I wanted to re-establish it again.

Since then I practiced different asanas.  Even though the body I am using is 60 years of age, I can do a reasonable full lotus but that is due to consistent practice for at least 40 years. Restrictions for how to sit were put on me by Srila Yogeshwarananda who is my main yoga-guru. To maintain the student relationship with him I have to do as I am instructed. But that does not mean that others have to comply.

During the meditation session my main effort was to keep linked into the naad sound. Swami Muktananda was present but mostly he was mumbling to himself. Then once he said to me,

“You will have to sit for longer periods, otherwise your time will run out and you won’t gain the accomplishment. Get strict with yourself. Forget others. Let them do as they like. People, who are used to transmigrating as animals, have no sense of time. They think that they have forever to take up a serious spiritual practice. Know the urgency. With our help increase the mediation sitting time.”
