Jai Sri Radhe!

For my last few sessions, I took a more gentler approach.  This gave me an opportunity to experience the Kundalini energy with more awareness, rather than being over-taken & disconnected.  I found that when Kundalini was in the process of "hitting" my senses, I applied & was able to hold the locks each time.  That is a small accomplishment for me.

I can't express how peculiar this energy feels for me.  The way it affects me (rather what I perceive to be me) is extraordinary.  I truly enjoy how this relationship with Kundalini unfolds during each practice.

If the energy starts to overwhelm me while I am holding the locks, I open my eyes and it seems to center me again.  Is this ok?  Or should I leave the eyes shut?

Also, I find that I have so much energy after the breath infusion & have a hard time sitting to meditate.  I meditate regularly, but meditating right after breath infusion is new for me & challenging.  Any suggestions?

Hare Krishna & Thank You.

MiBeloved's Response:

Disconnected from what? That disconnect may turn out to be a very important part of the self-realization process.

Disconnected from what?

And disconnected by what or by whom?

These questions should be tackled later, in about 2 years, so keep them on the back burner and let them simmer down.

This is okay as a stopgap measure. In the long haul you will have to cease this. When you open the eyes, energy is released out of the psyche. In fact one of the biggest energy releases is through the eyes. Because some energy is released, kundalini is no longer inspired to shoot up with lightning speed into the brain. It loses some of the infused energy and so it is de-elevated to the slightly lower plane.

For now open the eyes and as your confidence increases and your hold on the locks tighten, resume keeping the eyes closed.

This is happening because you are not internally focused, even though you think you are. It depends on the definition of what introspection is.

Over time this will change.

In this kundalini yoga practice, much energy is compressed into the psyche by the breath infusion process. But what should happen to that energy?

Where should it go?

Increase in energy produces tension, while decrease in energy produces depression.

And still if you do the infusion and if the energy infused serves the purpose, then there will be neither tension nor depression.

If the energy is compressed properly, the result will be tension but a tension which will cause the psyche to rise to a higher plane of existence. If however the energy is not compressed properly, then it will remain on the normal plane of consciousness or even to go to a higher plane partially, and then due to its energization effect, it will cause the mental field to be active.

This contradicts Patanjali who listed pranayama as being the stage from which pratyahar sensual energy shut down occurs. Patanjali is saying that the energy should be shut down. If that is not happening, then it means that the pranayama practice is not proficient.

Be patient with this and have confidence that it will go in the correct way over time.

You are having so much energy. It is moving at a rapid speed in the head of the subtle form. Therefore the mind just won’t settle down.

You will need to learn how to have that much energy and let it serve you to settle the mind down, to stop the thinking process, to give you shanti mental quiescence.
