During meditation this morning Siddha Swami Nityananda appeared with interest in why I am not able to have a consistent focus on supernatural light. He suggested that bad association is involved but felt that I was handling that in the most efficient way at this point. He thought that the scatter of light coming out of the sense of identity might be the issue.
This is consistent with some advice given by Srila Yogeshwarananda recently.
The information about this is that the higher levels are there. These remain as is. Hence the change has to happen in the approach of the student yogi. The change has to be in the senses of the yogi and not in what is to be perceived which is on a higher plane.
The tendency is there to change the environment, even the higher environment, to bring these within the purview of the self. This tendency is natural but it is should be changed so that the self is made suitable to perceive the higher environments without any effort to change those.
The higher environments will stay put. If anything the self has to change itself to come within range of these environments. The self has to use its energy to produce the required change in the psyche of the self.
Siddha Swami suggested the collecting of the diffused energy which comes out of the sense of identity, to bundle this energy and collect it as one cloud-pool of transparent mixing light. He suggested that I collect this and hold it in one place near to the core-self.
