Something I wrote on LinkedIn:
Best thing is to be honest and not to try to imitate someone who has a dissimilar nature. Some of us are result-oriented and no amount of meditation will change us over-night, in which case we need to face facts and just consider the desired results. Then if we are not getting that we should find a different method.
Those of us who are not result-oriented but who are into effort or process for its own sake irrespective of results can go on a long course and stick to it no matter what, provided we feel we are making some progress day by day.
It is like the result desired by those of us who are not result-oriented, is the feeling of making a little progress daily from whatever method we adopt.
Obviously the best course is the one taken by those who are not result-oriented since they get satisfaction each step of the way merely by their practice.
