Progress Report and Practice Lucid Dream

My days in the country of Bulgaria are dwindling and am bound to return to Florida tomorrow.

There were several strong practices that took place in the beach city of Varna, on the shores of the Black Sea. Beach season not being in full swing yet, the beach was mostly deserted very early in the morning (sunrise) and late in the afternoon. The presence of Surya (the sun) and Prana and Vayu (airs) was keenly felt.

Practice Lucid Dreaming: Tonight I fell asleep around 9 PM and until 12 midnight or so, found myself in a lucid dream in the astral practicing the Kundalini Yoga with breath infusion. The surroundings in the astral were not discernible, but dark (or perhaps I could not perceive them, but there was a feeling that the surroundings were not important, but that the practice was paramount). The subtle body (Sukshma Sarira) was approximately of the form of the current physical one, but not clearly bounded, and its lines were made perceptible in the form of orange light when it struck the surface or when an asana or breath infusion took place, as such the stressed area was illuminated with the orange light and several nadis (or astral veins) became visible, mostly in the specific area of stress or accumulation of energy. This continued for quite a while.

Much as when Surya has written about practicing in dreams, or when the Acharya has written several times that in his 40 years or so of practice, when not doing it in the physical for a short period of time, it was continued in the astral side, it is important for the student to realize this possibility.

However, this will not happen unless there is a great commitment and dedication that brings such absorption that it convinces the subtle body, the psyche, that this, and nothing else, is the most important task. For this to occur, perforce, a strong desire for liberation (Moksha) must prevail; in other words, this Purusharta (or aim of life), must totally trump the other 3. As the Acharya recently summarized the 4 purushartas:

Artha - Making a dollar.

Kama - Making love.

Dharma - Being a gentleman in this realm.

Moksha - Not giving a hoot about the other 3 above and concentrating on liberation itself.

This is the preamble for the attainment of the state of Urdhva Retas. However, a word of caution, if one becomes cocky or arrogant, the fall will be grand, so one must stay humble and attuned to God and Gurus, for this, at the beginning  is only an inkling, a hint, and necessitates constant attention to become anything near regular.

Later on in the dream, I taught the preliminaries of this Kundalini Yoga, in the astral, to my friend Marietta. I had helped her to emigrate from Cuba without having met her before, and later gave her hints of yoga, mostly about devotion to the Mother, and for that she calls me "Maestro" (teacher, Acharya) even though I do not deserve it. Since, due to family pressures, she had to move to New Jersey, physical contact has been temporarily lost, thus it was resumed in the astral. Now that I have been authorized by the Acharya to teach the preliminaries of this yoga, this was my first try and rightly so with the right person, as there is a sense of gratitude from her towards me, so I was happy to do so.

Yoga practice experience in dreams is a sure sign of progress and a source of confidence that one can become a full out yogi.

If there is hardly any practice during dream states then that is not a good sign and that signifies that if one passes to the astral body permanently, then the astral body will be occupied with everything other than the practice. And that is a not a good sign.

Nice going Alfredo, you are a source of great inspiration to me especially and of course maybe other Members also.

Very nice comment you made about the need for that most important quality of genuine humility, for without it, one's advancement will be into the negative zone instead of the absolutely positive zone of the highest transcendence.

Keep up the good work!

Forever Obeisances to His Divine Grace Yogi Madhvacharya!
