I have been experiencing interesting things for a week during meditation. After 15-20 minutes of pranayama, I lie down and move my consciousness into the center of my head.

Few minutes later when my mind become calm I start to feel that something is pulling me towards my forehead, later it feels as if I would be in a tunnel and travel forward.

In other cases I feel vibration in my forehead which expands to my whole body. After that I feel that my whole body is falling down somewhere.

Unfortunately I often lose my focus during that mainly because I get excited. I would like to know what really happens while I experience these things, and what would happen if I could stay calm and focused.

MiBeloved's Response:

Where is the consciousness located before you relocate it into the center of the head? It is important to first note where the consciousness is focalized just before you begin each meditation session and also over time to compare to see if that location is persistent or not.

The most natural occurrence when you try to settle down to meditate is to focus forward towards the forehead. Most mental activity takes place in that location. That is the default interest of the self. Just as people in a building will usually head for the front door of the place, the core-self is oriented to the frontal part of the head.

MiBeloved's Response:

The consciousness is spread through the entire psyche or subtle body but it is more focalized usually in the head of the form, except when specific excitements which are located elsewhere take place, like for instance in sex expression or for instance if there is a wound in some other part of the physical body. Some people suffer emotional trauma in the chest area of the body, others feel it more in the gut.

Consciousness is all over the body but when one becomes aware of that, it feels as if there was an expansion of consciousness but it may be that the person’s awareness of what was already there is what expanded, not the consciousness itself.

These experiences are ones in which you become aware of the energy of the subtle body, and as to how that energy is distributed. If you remain calm, you might get more experiences of a similar nature and perhaps more clarity of what is taking place.

Keep practicing. Train yourself to remain calm, to be a neutral observer.

MiBeloved query:

Where is the consciousness located before you relocate it into the center of the head?

bandika's reply:

I didn’t pay a lot of attention to that, but in most cases it is in my head. When I start meditating I always locate it into the center.

I restate what I wrote before because it was inaccurate. After my consciousness is in the center of my head, I always start to see shapes of light (circles, spirals) which are moving away from me towards the center of my eyebrows or a bit higher. Later my consciousness also moves to the center of these movements. That time the lights disappear and I still have a feeling of moving forward while being in the center of the eyebrows.

That is the third eye gyrations.

Focusing on that is okay. If however that stops, and the mind resumes its usual nonsense and low quality considerations, you should retreat to the back of the head and abandon the front part of subtle head.

Could you explain in a nutshell what I can expect if I focus on this gyration? Of course with a calm, thoughtless mind.

The best thing to expect is nothing, because if you have an expectation, it means there will be a tension in your mind, where if the expectation does not happen, then the mind will go into a depression, however slight.

The result of a depression even the tiniest one will be a lowering in the energy level of the subtle body which will cause you to lose touch with the third eye period.

Report on what happens and we can help you from there but do not have any expectation. Also always make note of what the core-self is and how it is positioned in the psyche.

Thank you. If I have new experiences I will report them.
