Pranayama through the subtle pores

Bhastrika pranayama breath infusion practice this morning was productive of getting the pores of the subtle body to operate as an aggressive means of breath infusion. This is something which I used to do in the early 1970s but which over time was lost because of non-yogic associations.

In the physical body there is some minor exchange of air through the pores of the skin and there is evaporation of salty liquid through the skin, but in the subtle body the pores can open and operates as lungs do in the physical system.

When this happens the apana energy cannot stay in the subtle body and the effort to draw it out is greatly maximized as it can be released through the pores from those hard to reach places and does not have to travel through nadis all away to the subtle lungs.

Actually in the higher configuration of the subtle body there are no lungs anyway. It is designed in a totally different way having no accommodations for survival and for management by a kundalini life force which operates on the principle of survival through reproduction and transmigration to new forms after an old form runs its course.

When the infused energy finally filled the trunk of the subtle body, it overflowed and released its excess through the neck into the head. At first this went up both sides of the neck into the jaws and felt like little tight springs being rapidly stretched and released frequently with micro bliss crystals firing off.

During the practice I was also able to focus on the sacral region, particularly the bones in that area. These might be neglected by a yogin and they should be taken care of. The whole area of the base chakra needs to be carefully considered. All apana energy which loiters there should be pushed or pulled out.
