Today I wasn't able to join Michael, and he is leaving later in the day, so I really wanted to. But I would have been more than 15 min late and I decided to just text him that I wouldn't make it. Besides with less than 5 hours sleep I would have been phased out again and not able to take real advantage of the session.

This week, having an extra day off Labor Day took much time pressure off for me. I practiced freely for a good 45 min. It felt good.

As I ended warm up I could feel the energies in motion so I decided that I would not solicit kundalini with the locks in any critical postures (for me, standing and the plank on hands).

However, in mid session as I straightened from doing nauli (navel/stomach zone cleanse) kundalini came up. I immediately sat down properly. I resumed practice, but skipped the ending head stand since I was leery of increasing the energies I was feeling, and freak out again.

Merely standing was bringing waves about, the only thing that made sense was to sit and meditate.

Meditation was longer but not focused.

A dream consisted of an "attraction/romance" in the work place, it is only a rerun of daytime activities. Or is it the ancestors knocking?

So there again and again, because of my interests my dream are as they are.

Comment:

I can see that bhastrika/kundalini is truly a personal affair particularly once the practitioner has an idea of the basics of what to do within the session.

General guidance is an absolute must, and all systems have similarities.

But in details it is like a sex act, only I know the spots, and how it feels when in a certain position or if more this way or that way.

So my routine (set of asanas and their sequence) is based on my needs at this time.

================================

PM practice; I did some stretching of areas of concern with tension (gluts, hamstrings and small of the back), with breath of fire.

I stood up to solicit kundalini, but when I felt a strong surge coming on I desisted applying the locks and went into the kneeling position.

I followed with a very brief meditation. Until I can change certain things in particular start reading meditation will remain on the plateau.

I picked up "sleep paralysis" ...

MiBeloved's Response:

Fully confirmed.

When one really realizes this, one's spiritual life begins in earnest.

Privacy is really a form of self-conceit but eventually one comes to understand how to use it to develop spiritually and thus remove the conceit.

So conceit is developed, used, and then lost?

Kundalini is about conceit, subterfuge and advantage.

Until the student gets it wiped out, he or she will have to conform to it to a lesser or greater degree.

This AM yoga was started after some warm up including stretches to loosen my critical areas. I did some breath of fire as I did practice.

Kundalini in mid session was solicited to rise and did so in a very even fashion, all the way into the feet and toes, yet it was very mild almost subtle.

I normally start practice in the AM only after morning bowel movement. I realize the importance of freeing that zone of fecal matter before working with kundalini.

After this AM b.m. immediately started a persistent and painful blue balls. I did yoga particularly paying attention to postures that can help loosen, stretch and work the seminal storing tubules, in order to spread the load to other parts of the body; and also move some out of the small of the back where it stores further.

In spite of time pressure I was glad to go through my routine, and sat in meditation.

Naad frequency was audible but not seriously tuned to. In meditation half lotus postures the tension/pain was increased and was radiating all around the lower zone reaching the navel.

Comment: In my predicament where semen is produced, with no let out (being divorced, and before the next wet dream - a drop out of the bucket) things can get quiet complicated down there. A prolonged "blue balls" can cause inflammation of the involved organs (i.e. non bacterial prostatitis). I am not experiencing sexual agitation or any extra lust as can be the case, just naturally backed up (I guess).

Ultimately, just as my difficulty with the meditation as well as inability to make higher subtle connections in dream, more internalization of the process is required as a result of primarily more reading (higher association) in order to address the issue from the root which is within the subtle. I could also retire into a cave after killing all the ancestors but there is a whole tribe of them; what gives?

MiBeloved's Response:

If one can pass out the solids just before morning session that is great but the important thing is to have a regular evacuation procedure so that within each 24 hours give or take a few, one passes out all solids which were eaten 24 hours or more before. In other words solid matter should not remain in the intestines for more than say 26 or so hours for the most.

One can have a thorough session of breath infusion even if the system is not ready to pass out waste before the morning session. This is done by a thorough pushing down of the infused compressed air so that it goes down into the rectum and also saturates the intestinal track completely.

One should look down in the body and be sure that one achieves this within the first 20 minutes or so during the session of breath infusion practice.

Stomach pumps should also be done.

MiBeloved's Response:

Problems with pain in the testes which comes from semen in the tubes which lead off from the testes, may be caused by a disease in the body or by lifting very heavy objects and straining the system. These causes have to be dealt with in a medical way.

When however there is pain in the tubes due to sexual agitation, then the yogi should find out what was the cause of the agitation and should avoid that association in the future.

If there is sexual agitation, then fluids will flow out of the testes towards the seminal vesicle, if these fluids keep flowing and are not emitted out of the organ, then it will cause pain because those tubes will swell. This might be compared to when a faucet is on while a hose is attached to it. If there is no nozzle on the end of the hose, the water will flow out freely. If you apply a closed nozzle, then a pressure will build up and sometimes it swells a weak part of the hose and causes it to burst.

Males who do not have female sexual partners and who expose themselves to sexual stimulation either through films or by exposure to sexual suggestive live stuff, may come down with swollen tubes which will bring pain in the groin and testes areas.

The solution or way out of this is to avoid the sexual associations. The solution is not yoga.

This AM I woke up not feeling up to it. However, once I started warm up, I was totally warmed up and was feeling the energy. I knew then not to pressurize kundalini too much.

My stretches were deep and satisfactory. Breathing could be better. Kundalini was solicited in the standing posture (the seahorse like stance) in mid session, it rose mildly.

At the end of the session when locks were applied gingerly in the variation of the plank posture with feet on the ground kundalini came up very strongly, I let go immediately. After the headstand (at the conclusion of my session) the energy came up, so I applied the locks in an attempt to control it, I became overpowered and went in the kneeling position. Then kundalini energy was strong and generalized throughout the body.

Meditation allowed for naad frequency to be tuned to sporadically, at which times I could feel minute sensations around the body.

Dream recall consisted of tail ends of two mundane subtle interactions.

Started reading "Dream Paralysis": dreams are for real!

PM exercise was limited to getting the kinks out of critical areas with some breaths and a mild kundalini.

MiBeloved's Response:

A yogi should not wake up careless as if nothing happened during the night in the astral world, as if there is nothing to fear about what happened during the night, as if there was nothing sublime that took place during the night.

Suppose during the night your astral body was in a darshan (audience) with Gautama Buddha?

Then is that worth remembering?

Is that worth becoming concerned and worried, if you cannot recall what happened?

Suppose that during the night your astral body was in the association with the woman you love, then does that have any value.

Is it worth it to go over the details of that?

Should you become depressed because you cannot remember those cherished moments?

A student yogi should take seriously the instructions about keeping a dream journal and making an attempt at rising to write down whatever is recalled or whatever comes to mind when nothing is recalled.

After getting the instruction about keeping a dream journal, a student yogi should not go off mentally disregarding the idea, thinking ,

“Well, guruji said that but for me that is not important. I can do this without having to write anything down. I am not a neophyte like guruji thinks. I can get this all integrated without being a school kid with a pad and pencil every time I awaken from sleep.”

If the student awakens and does not feel up to it to do the yoga practice, that means that the student is under a negative influence and was in association with people who have no value for yoga practice.

Is that important?

Should the student make the effort to identify the person or persons whom he was associating with in the astral world, so that he can know for sure where these influences originate and how these influence express such power as to pull him away from practice and cause utter discouragement about practice?

Can the student use these observations to gage his strength in comparison to the influences of non-yogis?

AM session involved deep stretches accompanied with breaths. I have been going deeper in the back bent postures (i.e. Michael's email pic), I feel soreness in the deep tissue of all along the back. Forward bending was also forced and may need some leniency in the next session. Kundalini was made to rise and is still not controlled, far from it.

A dream was recalled but not noted.

Meditation on account of a little more peace in my daily life, is going a tad bit deeper again. Naad frequency was on and listened to for the brief time afforded to meditate.

I am again hearing "my" naad which is weird, fragmented, and differentiated according to the locale in the head.

It is comprised of different sounds of different qualities (as in air, wood, and water) and they are all simultaneous and consistent.

I try to pay some attention to naad before sleep since it is now audible again in any silent environment.

I also try to keep reading (a little) everyday, as I have been directed.

PM exercise focused on stretching so as to alleviate the tenderness in the whole back from AM session.

MiBeloved's Response:

This is a good practice!

Every bit of time spent listening to naad will add up.

The practice of focusing on naad and releasing yourself from the frontal part of the subtle head before sleeping is vital to retrain the psyche so that it can give up its addiction to the chatter and picture show in the mind.
