तीव्रसंवेगानाम आसन्नः२१॥ = tīvrasavegānām āsanna

For those who practice forcefully, in a very intense way, the skill of yoga will be achieved very soon.

नमः शिवाय

AM

Woke up at 4:00 AM (Brahma-Muhurta). Practiced yoga all day.

Austerities:

1.  Social interaction kept to a bare minimum, so as to concentrate fully on the practice of yoga (hiding in samsara!).

2.  Restrictive diet on track. Weekly Friday fast ended at today’s breakfast. Continued with no solid food after lunch, only 1 home-made veggie juice at 4 PM.

Study: Study of same spiritual books from same author, including summary, drawings and notes, resumed. Also, reviewed Yoga-Kundalini Upanishad and downloaded Swami Shivananda's "Kundalini Yoga".

Additional Spiritual Practice:

1.  Tratak on Sun on stand-by, cloudy and rainy outside.

Breath Infusion: Practice of 35 minutes was good for the AM, the congestion gone, I could exercise properly mudra and locks: Ashwini Mudra, Mulabhanda, Uddiyana Bhanda, and Jalandhara Bhanda.

Meditation: Meditation on Naad for 35 minutes.

Dream recall: As every time there is a fasting, dream recall improves, so dreams were recalled practically all night long. They were all of spiritual import. The first one about the Bhagavad Gita. Before going to bed at around 8 PM last night I had read a book of no spiritual import for the first time in months – “Witness to Auschwitz” by Filip Muller, still alive at 91 the sole survivor witness of the Sonderkommando -  and thought that the gory descriptions could have an impact on my dreams, but they did not.

PM

Very strong prânâyâma practice for 35-40 minutes.

Meditation was very good for my level. Naad was quite strong and allowed for concentration. For a change, I concentrated on the 3rd eye for a while.

MiBeloved's Remark:

Fasting causes the subtle body to be disengaged from the physical one which results in more subtle perception both when using the physical one and also during astral projection.

For long-ranged purposes, it is best to design for yourself a daily fasting routine, whereby you fast every day which means that you eat less overall and keep the gross body alive with the minimum amount of food it requires. This will cause an ongoing increase in subtle perception during sleep and also while awake.

The system in India which is to fast on special religious occasions and when one has a special religious ceremony and during certain moon phases (ekadashi), and then to eat as usual at other times, is not ideal because it does not yield a daily progression.

Eating as usual in that case really means over-eating and be careless about the quantity of food and the time eaten. Serious students should make observations about this and design a daily fast schedule.

Thank you very much!

You are totally correct. What you suggest is what I am doing, and am sure you can imagine from where I am getting this.

My approach is now two-prone. The main reason I am fasting on Friday is to correct the weight faster. Since that video I posted I have lost 20 pounds. Since the start of the practice, 40 pounds. This Friday's fast will be abandoned in time for the daily fasting routine, which is already partially in place since I am not eating solid foods after lunch, thus freeing the energy for the psychic activities of the yoga and the understanding of the subtle body.

This has also caused a great improvement in the PM routine, as I am not psychologically dependent on thinking about when to eat or how much to eat and being a slave to the food, which is what most folks are. A yogi cannot afford that or there will be no improvements in the yoga.

You have a very practical way of doing this and that is all the more for you.

However the individual cells which will feel deprived due to the Friday fast will take their revenge and kundalini will side with them against you.

Then what?

Then it will be the little puny god-self against the allied enemies.

I guess there is some probability that the scrawny little god-self may win.

Keep us posted, because you know we like to see those blood and gore movies.

Thanks again.

Yes, I am confident that the little self will have its way this time because of caution.

Notice that the Friday fasts in reality, by going from breakfast to breakfast, only misses one meal, lunch, in comparison to the restrictive diet overall, so it is not felt that much as trying on the cells. Anyhow, as mentioned, it is a temporary measure, but I am not there yet when I will abandon it. The "daily fast" that you follow is also trying on the cells at the beginning, that's why fine tuning for the one like me starting it is so necessary.

Daily sunbaths, luckily available almost year round in this latitude, add electron-nourishment to the body. While taking the sun naked outside, I massage the body with a mixture of 80% flaxseed oil/20% wheat germ oil, with emphasis on joints and lymph nodes. The oil sinks in under the sun and oils the lymphatic system as well as contributing to the health of the brain of the cells, which is the cell membrane, by providing the correct fat homeostasis that promotes healthy flow through the membrane (the nucleus is not the brain of the cell, for the cell can survive without it for weeks, but can't survive at all without the membrane), so I am not just abandoning the cells in a mindless fast, there is more to it than just refraining from eating. Add to that the occasional Tratak on Surya.

I am calibrating the diet by the quality of the stools. At this point, my stools do not smell, and they float appropriately, as per Ayurveda, that states that the stools should float like a submarine does, neither too floaty nor sink, but about 10% above the surface of the water. This is helped by regularity in the diet, type of food, and eating about the same food every day, so that the system gets accustomed to work and obtain as much nourishment as possible from the same nutritious and Sattvic foodstuff. Also, as mentioned, I take daily Triphala Rasayana. Occasional organic coffee enemas help with colon detox and regulation.

unlimitedsun's reply:

As you very well know it is a good idea to follow series of enemas or better said colemas (?) with some quality (pre &) probiotics especially for individuals who have sensitive and easily disturbed digestive systems, which they would know...

Simply keeping the balance of the intestinal flora in mind could do.

Surya Ji!

Thank you very much for the useful information, as always so helpful.

One thing I do on practices of this sort, whether fasting, enemas, sun-gazing, etc, which could be controversial, or given to assumptions, where you find people on both sides of the aisle with vehement opinions, is to use calibration and intuition.

In other words, once the information is intellectually digested, calibrating the intuition will result in the proper answer for oneself. This, if done properly, never fails.

In addition, as a result of kinesiology treatment once, I use a personal pendulum. You first calibrate the pendulum to a "yes" and a "no", then ask yourself and watch the answer. The pendulum must be suspended from your fingers while having the elbow resting on a surface. It won't fail you.

Of course, you don't use the pendulum to ask "what color of tie should I wear today". If you get a pendulum to answer that, please let me know right away, we may get rich out of it.

And BTW, with the enemas, I always follow with organic sauerkraut juice, home-made better, for the probiotics you mentioned.

unlimitedsun's reply:

I recall that in Mali (West Africa) as a child when the farmers would bring eggs to sell, before buying women would do a test; they would fetch a container, fill it with water and drop the eggs in one by one. Anytime they floated, they knew that the eggs were rotten and possibly full of nauseous smells the likes of a TNT bomb. And when they sank, well that was really good because we could make omelettes. I'm sure the same was practiced many other places.
