तीव्रसंवेगानाम आसन्नः२१॥ = tīvrasavegānām āsanna

For those who practice forcefully, in a very intense way, the skill of yoga will be achieved very soon.

AM

Woke up at 4:00 AM (Brahma-Muhurta). Practiced yoga all day.

Austerities:

1.    Social interaction kept to a minimum.

2.    Restrictive diet and daily fast on track.

Study: Study of same spiritual books from same author, including summary, drawings and notes, continued.

Additional Practices:

1.    Conducted rounds of 2nd-Kriya prânâyâma between the AM and PM sessions.

2.    Sunbathed and solar-gazed with closed eyes.

Breath Infusion: Practice of 30 minutes. Continued the practice of breathing from the navel.

Meditation: Meditation on Naad for 25 minutes.

Dream recall: Very clear dream recall with childhood friend in an interesting setting.

PM

Strong prânâyâma practice for 30 minutes. Air compression has increased since breathing from navel.  Very pleased with the results of raising the Kundalini which had ceased to work consistently for a while due to several mistakes. That goes to highlight the importance of getting the practice checked by the experts. Things that I was doing incorrectly:

  • Breathing was too shallow while on standing posture before the kneeling postures.
  • I was bending the head forward when going down.
  • Kundalini was being blocked at the small of the back. This was solved by, as I raise and I apply the locks, wiggling the lower back to the sides, I could feel the energy bypassing the lower back and ascending through the spine into the head. Each time a blackout occurred that was controlled by the act of letting the energy escape the head in time otherwise I would have been hurled onto the floor.

Meditation for 30 minutes on Naad. Naad was very strong coming from everywhere, and it was a joy and there was a message reading like this: “let me lead you, fear not”.

Ganesha

Ganesha (among other things) is the Devata of spiritual Knowledge.

Ganesha is the Power that removes obstacles by the force of Knowledge; Kartikeya represents victory over the hostile Powers. Of course, the names given are human, but the gods exist.

Sri Aurobindo (letter to a disciple).

MiBeloved’s Remark:

These actions which one is inspired to make during breath infusion practice are the real effective mudras. The standard mudras used by Buddha or Shiva for example, in their icon forms, are for their darshan viewing purposes, where devotees can come to them and take blessings.

When used by others, these mudras have little to do with making spiritual advancement and with getting kundalini under control.

By all means these poses should not be imitated just for the heck of it. If for instance one becomes an empowered yogin like say Swami Shivananda, then it might be appropriate to assume such gestures. But otherwise they should not be used. If a king sits on a throne, being decorated with insignia and holding a staff in a particular way, then citizens should not do the same thing.

When doing the practice sincerely and intensively, one will find that the hands, feet and the body in general will take certain postures or will feel as it is to be twisted or wiggled in a specific way. And this will change from time to time. When these actions are taken prana will pass more effectively through blocked areas and one will feel the passage or flow of the energy, thus verifying that the mudra was functional and was not just a forced pose.

A garden hose which has kinks will prohibit the free flow of water. The gardener may yank the hose or move it, to give assistance to the water which is forced against a kink. As soon as the gardener yanks the hose, the water will flow. In the same way during breath infusion practice, one should assume certain twists, turns, wiggles, and shock gestures so that the infused compressed energy can pass freely through the system.
