AM Practice

Svadhyaya: Continued reading and studying Michael’s newly-released book “Astral Projection”.

Dedication: Mantric invocation to Lord Shiva, Lord of Yoga and protector of yogis. Practice dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Breath Infusion: 30 minutes of Bhastrika prânâyâma in various asanas. Results were good.

Meditation: Meditation was conducted by concentrating on the back of the head and thus warding off thoughts. This was a direct application from the book “Astral Projection”. Although this is also covered in “Meditation Pictorial”, I found the explanation about the 3 locations of the central consciousness very clear. The default location is in the center of the head, the frontal location is where thoughts occur, and the location at the back of the head where one takes refuge from the thoughts. I did this for about 20 minutes.

Dream recall: One vivid dream recalled of a good nature.

PM Practice: PM practice consisted of a small prânâyâma session followed by a 35-minute meditation lying on the back on the hard floor over a silk carpet and with the frontal part and eyes covered with a black cloth (directions in “Astral Projection” book). The concentration has to be brought back to the back of the head once and again, but this should be done without violence or like when one coaxes an unruly bull with a bundle of sweet grass into the stable, and it apparently becomes easier with each try. Interesting things started to happen after about 20 minutes, when the third eye became activated without breath infusion or pressing the ocular orbs with fingers. This is new for me. Meaning the chakra signature was there and would not leave. I see a great promise here with this meditation, if only to calm the mind and decrease the harassing power of thoughts.

It may be of value to students in the future if you take detailed notes of what you are doing and leave those records behind. You might pioneer some novel process or at least be the first to detail it.
