AM Practice

Woke up late (7:30 AM) after a 10-hour sleep, this is the result of work, and driving for long hours yesterday. Practice conducted at home was standard overall and lasted 80 minutes.

Svadhyaya: Continued with “Yoga Sutras of Patanjali”, starting Chapter 2 “Sadhana Pada”. Here the Yamas and Niyamas are covered and masterfully commented upon.

Dedication: 5-minute mantra session invocation of Lord Shiva. Practice dedicated to Lord Shiva (please notice Shiva puja corner picture in my home where the mantra invocation takes place in pictures section - tried here, but the file was too big. There is the maalaa originally provided by Swami Jyotirmayananda, and a Shiva lingam, plus another one made of a jungle river rock from Costa Rica).

Breath Infusion: 45 minutes of Bhastrika prânâyâma. Half of the time was used in infusing fresh prana into the thighs, and extracting apana from them. Towards the end, Kundalini was solicited successfully twice before going into meditation immediately.

Meditation: Consisted of 30 minutes with concentration on the back of the head. Naad sound was audible all along. There was the usual struggle to keep the concentration on target, and to elongate it patiently towards the state of flowing concentration without effort (Dhyana). Nowadays, I am being able to elongate the concentration effortlessly for 2-3 minutes at a time.

Dream recall: 2 dreams of family import were recalled distinctly.

PM Practice

Practice continued at home was standard and lasted 60 minutes.

Breath Infusion: Consisted of a 30-minute Bhastrika prânâyâma practice. Kundalini was successfully solicited and raised up sushumna once at the end of the practice.

Question 1: In a pranayama session of 30-45 minutes...if one can raise Kundalini up the sushumna more than once...is that recommended? Or is it better to do it just once and concentrate on infusing breath in other parts of the body, such as the thighs?

Meditation: Consisted of 30 minutes with concentration on the back of the head.

Question 2: What is the best way to locate the buddhi organ during meditation?
