AM Practice
Woke up at 5:00 AM (Brahma-Muhurta). Practice was good and lasted approximately 90 minutes.
Svadhyaya: Continued with “Bhagavad Gita Explained”, Chapter 2, out of the dejection of Arjuna and into the Samkhya (Buddhi) yoga second part.
Dedication: 10-minute mantra session and doing Tratak (eye concentration) on effigy of Lord Shiva using a Maalaa.
Breath Infusion: 45 minutes of Bhastrika prânâyâma while doing several asanas, standing, seating, and floor. Infusion emphasis was on the lower trunk and feet. Kundalini was solicited up sushumna thrice.
Meditation: 45 minutes with concentration on naad on the back of the head. Particulars from the Acharya’s post yesterday “Thought Interference During Naad Absorption” were put into practice, the upper section of the instructions, when Naad is found on the back of the head, where I usually locate it, which is the level of meditation I am at. This instruction is most helpful, for otherwise thoughts would get the best of me although I was progressing little by little, this tool allows for a better concentration. The interesting thing is that, once and again, the Acharya will post comments about Naad and others that exactly pertain to the level of obstruction I am encountering, and for that I am very grateful to him! Thus I can testify that Naad, when brought into the “tunnel” literally cauterizes the thoughts and they are gone. At this point, in a 45-minute meditation as today I need to do that several times. The hope and goal, of course, is that those instances decrease and then one can enter the bottom part of the instruction when one becomes an expert on Naad meditation.
Sadhana Planning and Tapasya:
1. Doing as much Bhastrika prânâyâma as possible.
2. Continue diet of vegetable juice and flaxseed/cottage cheese blended together to shed 11 lbs. To the latter, added home-made almond milk, fruits, and brown-rice.
3. Continue 2nd Kriya prânâyâma in between the 2 main bhastrika practices (AM and PM) when time permits and observe the effects.

A continuation of the AM Practice consisted of over 100 cycles of 2nd Kriya pranayama and open-eye meditation (Shambhavi Mudra), at Hariharananda's Ashram (in Homestead, 18 miles from my home), in the meditation hall where initiation was taking place. There was also a short meditation inside Baba's old room. Presents I gave Gurudev more than 10 years ago, are still there.
PM Practice consisted of 30 minutes Bhastrika in different asanas with the usual solicitation of the Serpent Power up Sushumna Nadi.
Meditation of 35 minutes followed strictly on Naad. Naad was blaring from the back of the head, and it was used as a scorching gun, in that when thoughts appeared, it was applied to them and puff!
