AM Practice

Woke up during Brahma-Muhurta (4:00 AM). Practice conducted at home was standard overall and lasted 80 minutes. Emphasis was on breath infusion.

Svadhyaya: Left “Meditation Pictorial” in the hotel, thus re-started “Yoga Sutras of Patanjali” page 81, Chapter 1 “Samadhi Pada”.

Dedication: 5-minute mantra session invocation of Lord Shiva. Practice dedicated to Lord Shiva. If I falter during the practice, which happens often, I right away invoke Lord Shiva, Maheshwara, and the strength is restored. It does not fail.

Breath Infusion: 30 minutes of Bhastrika prânâyâma. Half of the time was used in infusing fresh prana into the thighs, and extracting apana from them. Towards the end, Kundalini was solicited successfully once before going into meditation immediately.

Meditation: Consisted of 45 minutes with concentration on the back of the head. Naad sound was audible all along. There was the usual struggle to keep the concentration on target, and to elongate it patiently towards the state of flowing concentration without effort (Dhyana).

Dream recall: 2 dreams were recalled distinctly. No need to detail them here, sufficient to say, they were of troublesome nature, thus reminding me of how much work remains to be done with the subtle body.

PM Practice

Practice continued at home was standard overall and lasted 65 minutes.

Dedication: 5-minute mantra session invocation of Lord Shiva. Practice dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Svadhyaya: Continued with “Yoga Sutras of Patanjali”, Chapter 1 “Samadhi Pada”.

Breath Infusion: Consisted of a 30-minute Bhastrika prânâyâma practice. Kundalini was successfully solicited at the end of the practice. I am still at that level where I am getting comfortable with the ability to raise the Kundalini on command, and entering into the study of what Michael pointed out today about going above and beyond that.

Meditation: Consisted of 30 minutes with concentration on the back of the head. Naad sound was audible, mostly coming from the left ear in a vortex. I tuned into it with effort most of the time.
