AM Practice

Woke up at 5:00 AM (Brahma-Muhurta). Practice was good overall and lasted approximately 105 minutes.

Svadhyaya: Continued second round of “Anu Gita Explained”. This is the greatest of Acharya’s books, of course for my old Vedic taste.

Puja and Dedication: 10-minute mantra session and Puja doing Tratak (eye concentration) on effigy of Lord Shiva using a Maalaa. Puja on Ishtadevata Mahayogin Lord Shiva, using Arati lamp and incense.

Breath Infusion: 60 minutes (1 hour) of Bhastrika prânâyâma while doing several asanas. Infusion emphasis was on the lower trunk and thighs. Kundalini was solicited four times up sushumna during the session, approximately at 15 minutes intervals. Her movements were as follows: a) First time, did not rise up to the head as the blockage in the lower back was still stubborn; b) Entered the head after blockage in lower back was pierced, causing slight disorientation of buddhi organ in subtle head and enervating the top chakra; c) Entered the head forcefully, causing full blackout and almost hurling me to the floor; d) Partial blackout just before meditation.

Meditation: Consisted of 35 minutes with concentration on Naad sound after bringing the concentration slowly to the back of the head. Naad was stronger coming from the left ear. Meditation is often challenged by Prakriti and social conundrums, like today projection into chores that need to be done during the day. Awful!

Spiritual State of Mind and Sadhana Planning:

1.    Doing as much Bhastrika prânâyâma as possible.

2.    Increasing meditation quality and time.

3.  Listening to Naad during the day while in the midst of chores, this as a mantra and spiritual reminder.

4.  Controlling thoughts by using Pratipaksha Bhavana (rapidly changing bad thoughts for the thought of God using Brahman-Abhyasa, often using a mantra as the tool), knowing that the mind can only entertain one thought at a time.

5.  Continue with the practice of not eating anything solid after 6 PM.

Dream recall: Dream recall was very good in terms of remembrance. 2 dreams recalled. The one worth mentioning involved Acharya Beloved (5th time), in a work setting where I started and he was already there. He looked exactly as he does now. Guess who was giving instructions? You guessed right, the Acharya was (what a coincidence!). At one point I was shoveling sand in a pit to fill out a weird-looking sand pallet, among other workers, while the Acharya, fresh as a lettuce, instructed above. I called him all the time “Mike”, as some of his friends had done. Anyhow, I ended up threatening to sue the workplace for discrimination of some sort, I am so glad I am done with corporate America.

Question: Does this dream come from one of my cesspools (perhaps the Florida Everglades one), or was there any meaningful relation or interaction? I mean, since I nowadays most of the time, am either practicing Acharya’s yoga, or reading his books, or thinking about his teachings or him, what a normal shrink in the US would define as an “obsession”.

PM Practice

Practice was good. It consisted of 60 minutes. Reviewed the locks when soliciting Kundalini as per diagram above.

Breath Infusion: 30 minutes of Bhastrika prânâyâma. Kundalini was solicited once successfully. Meditation followed.

Meditation: 30 minutes meditation on the back of the head in shavasana (cadaver position = reclining).  Most of the meditation consisted of concentration on Naad sound.
