AM Practice

Woke up for practice at 5:00 AM (Brahma-muhurta). Quality of practice was good. It consisted of 90 minutes in a motel room with the air conditioning off and the window open. Emphasis was on pranayama.

Svadhyaya: Returned to review in depth “Meditation Pictorial”. In my opinion, student yogis following Kundalini Yoga under this Acharya should review this book every once in a while to compare with insights obtained as the practice develops.

Dedication: Practice dedicated to Lord Shiva after mantra (Om Namah Shivaya) and incantation.

Breath Infusion: 45 minutes of Bhastrika prânâyâma. Since it is now quite easy to solicit and raise Kundalini through Sushumna nadi and into the head, using the proper asanas, and it takes a few minutes for that to occur while infusing breath into the navel area, today I dedicated 15 minutes for the first time to the task of starting the process to clear the thighs of apana air (CO2), and infusing prana (fresh O2) into them (and will do so for at least that amount of time from now on). I am convinced that unless I start this process now, it will be impossible to advance in this yoga, as I will become a leaking vessel. I can look down with eyes closed in the dark room and into my subtle body and notice the darkness in the area of the thighs. Towards the end of the practice Kundalini was solicited in earnest, and allowed to enter the head fully without much concern for escape and to strike the brahmarandra, looking for a gold out, which was duly produced, hurling me to the floor, on time to kneel down. I right away went into meditation.

Meditation: 45 minutes meditation on the back of the head in shavasana (cadaver position = reclining).  Most of the meditation consisted of concentration on the area of the back of the head. Naad sound was heard all along. The concentration is brought back and elongated carefully and painstakingly, for the goal of long-lasting relaxed Dhyana. The investigation into the gold out produced the following answers: Kundalini strikes the brahmarandra (top chakra), momentarily bypassing and disorienting the buddhi organ, with the loss of the ahamkara sense. This golden contact is the undifferentiated Satchidananda, which is alien and foreign to the Jivatma in its current state.

Dream recall: 2 dreams recalled very clearly, non-lucid. They were called “greed in the corporate world” as there was a struggle to get a certain job, twice, with the concomitant exploitation of the applicant by upper management.

Keep working on this!

Alfredo, this is great progress!

Roughly three years ago, Michael introduced me to the pranamaya exercises.  After about a few months of consistent practice, one day I was caught off guard by kundalini during a session and the physical body fell back onto a raised water drain, injuring my lower back.  I was not able to perform exercises for a couple of months but after that experience, every session afterwards it was my intent to make sure that the physical body fell or be thrown off balance. This way I was certain that kundalini was going in the direction I needed it to go...UPWARDS!

Here is an old posted where I described a session: (http://www.inselfyoga.com/m/forums/topic/Pranayama-Exercise-This-Morning-11-28-10)

Because of my consistent practice, I am now able to detect the more subtle movements of kundalini so I get caught off guard less and able to remain more objective so the physical body does not topple over.

The consistency has greatly improved my dream recall and has given me more insight into the karmic debts that Providence has me repaying in this present life.  All of these debts have me involved in actions that are in direct conflict with our kriya yoga practice.  Exploitation!

As you said in your post...They were called “greed in the corporate world” as there was a struggle to get a certain job, twice, with the concomitant exploitation of the applicant by upper management.

I realize that working in the "corporate world" is completely counter-intuitive to yoga practice but I have ancestral debts that have to be paid.  Doesn't matter if it’s in conflict with my beliefs, I still have to honor the commitment.  So I can't complain now, since Providence decides how and when I repay it. Although, I could pitch a fit and refuse to find employment with any companies that are involved in exploitative actions. Which would be IMPOSSIBLE, since the entire system itself is exploitative.  It doesn't matter, everything from the small corner store to the mega-giant corporation so there is no escaping it.

Every morning and night, I struggle with the contradictions however if I don't fulfill these obligations. I will never get the opportunity to advance in my yoga practice. So all we can do is our best and know that the cards are stacked against us. And continue to practice earnestly and like Michael is showing us. One day we too will be able attract attention from above to aid in our escape.

Thank you Dean!

Your previous post gives me a better understanding of how advanced your practice is.

I also enjoyed recently the description of the OBE you sustained in your house.

The corporate greed and the selfishness encountered on a daily basis in the material front is definitely a hindrance. I am self-employed and that helps a little with the choices.

My dream recall has also improved lately.

Please post your practice experiences more often, we should all benefit from them.

Best wishes to you!

Dean's comment: I appreciate the encouragement, I am always writing down my experiences in my journal but due to current circumstances I don't have that much time to spare so something got to give. I will try my best.

Good luck to you too.
