AM Practice
Woke up for practice at 4:40 (Brahma-muhurta). Quality of practice was good.
Svadhyaya: Started study of 2nd Chapter of “Bhagavad Gita Explained” named “Divine State”. In this chapter the dejection of Arjuna continues, as he complains to Krishna when faces his enormous task.
Dedication: Practice dedicated to Lord Shiva after mantra and incantation.
Breath Infusion: 40 minutes of Bhastrika prânâyâma infusing breath on the navel. Emphasis was on floor asanas. Quality of practice was good overall. Energy continues to rise dutifully when solicited.
Meditation: 60 minutes meditation on the back of the head in shavasana (cadaver position = reclining). Most of the meditation consisted of concentration on the area of the back of the head. Naad sound was heard all along. It is difficult to maintain concentration at the back of the head for this long, but the effort is worthwhile and it becomes preparation for better things to come. The effort to elongate this concentration into meditation proper or Dhyana is paying back. Constancy of effort is paramount.
Dream recall: One dream recalled, later forgotten.
