For those who practice forcefully, in a very intense way, the skill of yoga will be achieved very soon.

Jai Shri Krishna

Om Swami Hariharanandaya Namah

Om Yogi Madhvacharya Namah

Woke up early as usual for yoga practice (Brahma-Muhurta). Lately most I do in a given day revolves around yoga one way or another. I try to live life as if there was no tomorrow. Abhinivesha still harasses me in dreams.

The breath infusion practice went well, but today, for the first time, Kundalini fired up in the legs. The physical body has responded well to the Hatha Yoga classes, and I am able to stretch a little better. It went like this: when soliciting Kundalini, it went up the spine as usual, but this time, twice, it simultaneously fired up downwards into the thighs and legs, all the way down to the feet. There was bliss felt in the legs, and there is no doubt in my mind that it was the Kundalini shakti that caused it.

The meditation went well. I exercised the investigative power of what I have learned so far. Naad was very strong as usual, covering a band from ear to ear at the back of the head. So when the core-self (dynamo) is moved to the back of the head and into Naad, thoughts subside, and when let go and it floats to the front, thoughts return. Why? It is obvious to me that vrittis or fluctuations of the mind are constantly welling up from the reservoirs of either the subconscious mind or the ultra-subconscious one, so that when the attention of the core-self energizes the buddhi organ, these vrittis take form and feeling. Could total cessation of vrittis be obtained in a way that the whole mind is quiet independently of the movements of the core-self and/or the involvement of the buddhi organ? Sure, it is called nirvikalpa/nirvichara samadhi and the very few attain it. In the meantime, the best I can do is to exercise this power of discrimination with the core-self attention and Naad. This is no small gain, by the way. How did I use to meditate before? Well, I now know that the Paravastha state of no thoughts I was taught to attain with the Kriya Yoga meditation was no other than Jada Samadhi. No investigation, no Inself-yoga. One can, and will, get stuck in that cycle forever without getting anywhere.

Is that Kundalini or energy movement Alfredoji? Although both seems same but some difference is there.

==================

Manish Ji!

Since Kundalini can be perceived as an energy, to answer your question I say this was the energy of Kundalini that was felt in the legs. Because the charge was felt at the same time that the arousal occurred up the spine, which by now has become a normal occurrence in the practice, I could discern the same type of energy, but now downwards into the legs.

It does not mean that it has not happened before. The milestone, to be accepted as one, is in perception. Why is perception important? Because the students here have been instructed to develop subtle body perception and trace the movement of the Kundalini Shakti above and beyond the classical arousal up the spine. This classical "movement" is motivated by the Pranayama and canalized by the use of several locks or bandhas, which has been discussed extensively here.

But now...what is this Kundalini, anyhow? And why is it located in, or around, the rook chakra? Kundalini is the life force that provides the energy for the body to live (day-to-day, body repair, procreation). Its location is around the cardinal center of the body, so to speak, the root chakra. With its withdrawal, death occurs.

Kundalini is a Tattwa, a principle, and one of the Tattwas by which living beings, human beings, are commonly threaded. Much as there is a Manas Tattwa, and a vital or Prana Tattwa that also unite us at a certain level.

When Kundalini is aroused and explodes or reacts as a result of the charge induced by the Pranayama, what is felt is not really a depletion of a certain amount of it, so to speak, but a projection, a double, of a certain principle; in other words, that the Kundalini is not depleted in any way by this "movement". A similar concept is explained in the famous Purusha Sukta of the Rg Veda (Hymn of Creation), when it says figuratively that the Purusha creates the world and still transcends it by 10 measures or "angulas" (dhashangulam).
