For those who practice forcefully, in a very intense way, the skill of yoga will be achieved very soon.

Jai Shri Krishna

Om Yogi Madhvacharya Namah

Woke up a little late this morning at 4 AM (Brahma-Muhurta) due to going to bed late last night (10 pm).

I had not done the full breath-of-fire infusion practice for a couple of days due to physical constrains, thus was eager to return to it. In the meantime, I was doing 144 rounds of Thokar Kriya pranayama (2nd Kriya pranayama), which takes approximately one hour to complete, followed by the regular meditation. However, I can confirm now that it is not the same as the energization of the subtle body obtained with the breath-of-fire, as I was able to witness this morning after a thorough practice for over 30 minutes, is of a higher quality and produces better results during meditation.

Meditation followed for 45 minutes. After a full breath-of-fire session I think it would be foolish not to take advantage of it and meditate for less time. This should be the minimum if not one hour or more to give time for proper research into the psyche, as well as to other locations and processes of the subtle body. During the first half of the meditation strict Samyama on Naad was conducted. It was followed by Samyama on the area of the 3rd eye as recommended by Srila Yogeshwarananda. This produced blue clouds of energy at first, and then sporadic openings of the 3rd eye. However, nothing lofty was seen through it, but several faces, including a clear face of a sexually-charged young woman (would you please, leave me alone, ha, ha). Towards the end of the meditation I fell into षून्य भाव (ūnya bhāva) or Tamasik Samadhi, which is experienced like a void, much like sleep. This can be a trap for the yogi, who should beware of it and not confuse it with higher stages of Samadhi.

great observations about doing breath infusion or not doing it, in relation to the quality of the meditation.
