तीव्रसंवेगानामआसन्नः२१॥ = tīvrasavegānāmāsanna

For those who practice forcefully, in a very intense way, the skill of yoga will be achieved very soon.

Jai Shri Krishna

Om Yogi Madhvacharya Namah

Today I conducted one of the strongest breath infusion practices so far for about 40 minutes.

I was lucky and blessed to conduct the practice at 4 AM in the terrace of a spectacular hotel built on a cliff that faces the Yantra river in beautiful Veliko Tarnovo, a walled, medieval city that was the capital of the 2nd Bulgarian empire (1185-1396). The hotel, a marvel of architecture, has its lobby at the street level and then goes down - not up - 10 floors, among the many trees, birds, toads, and frogs (I will post pics soon).

The quality of the air is striking. The temperature perfect for yoga.

During the breath infusion, the presence of Vayu (blower, the wind) and Prana (breathing) was felt keenly.

Om Pranavayuve Namah!

The 5 Vayu deities are: Prana, Apana, Vyana, Udana, and Samana.

Holy Swami Hariharananda Guruji, whom I named the Master of the Shortest Breath Spell, specialized in Udana air. This air covers the area from the chin/mouth, to the brahmarandra. Swamiji's instruction was to watch this shortest breath keenly and lovingly all the time, as it entered the nostrils, touches and worships the pituitary gland, and then bows and dies - sacrifices itself - at the fontanel (brahmarandra). A whole Kriya Yoga can revolve around this shortest breath.

On the breath-of-fire front, I could feel today the movement of energy clearly as the major nadis were less obstructed than usual. Kundalini, solicited thrice in 3 different kneeling asanas, entered the head.

Meditation was compromised, though. A give and take, the result of too many images and impressions the day before, visual and otherwise.

Perfect set-up, perfect scenery plus this opportunity is tantamount to heavenly blessing. You are wise to make most of such fortune.
