4:14 am to 5:41 am- Kundalini session.

In a certain posture during the session, I had felt a tingling in the chest area as well as in the left and right shoulders.

Also there was a light burning sensation in the lower stomach. Can anyone enlighten on what causes it to be felt in the chest area?

Oft times in the beginning of a session the left nostril will be clear while the right nostril will be blocked, but during the course of the session the left one will be blocked and the right one will be clear, then at one point of the session both nostrils will be clear, then I can feel the energy at the top part of the nose, I wonder what causes the energy to switch from the left to the right and then to the center?

At one point I can willfully direct the energy to either nostril while infusing the air.  What gives me the ability to direct the energy to either nostril at will when initially that was not possible?  Can anyone help with answering the question?

5:45am to 6:20 am Meditation session.

Usual  overall spaghetti noodle like darkish reddish hued mind space perceived along with the energy cloud and it's components,  except this time everything, the overall space had a slightly less darkened appearance to it,  then I noticed that the darkness had started to slowly separate into what I can only describe as eyelashes.

Just imagine a circle each degree of the circle being a profile of a pair of eyelashes, now imagine that there are a hundred an eighty pair of these profiled eyelashes diagonally across from each other.   Of each pair of eyes one of them is directly on the other side of the circle.

Now just imagine the circle gradually shrinking to the point where each eyelash comes in contact with the other one , which is directly opposite on the other side of the circle, as you can see it would look like at a glance just to be a ball of darkness, that color being the color of each of the eyelashes.

Within the center of the ball of so-called darkness there is this energy cloud, which encompasses varied hued subtle objects.

Some of these objects are orbs of different color or so it seems, these orbs are randomly orbiting within this energy cloud.

Besides these orbs, there is this dancing blue dot like object, and there is also the starlight, twinkling object, apparently also erratically jumping around within this energy cloud.

So what I am perceiving on a regular basis, even when my eyes are close or open this subtle phenomenon is always being perceived by me, whether I like it or not.

I don't perceive any additional sounds, or visuals. But only this so-called reddish darkish space, along with what I have just tried to describe.

Besides the perception of the so-called dark space, the other subtle objects are more or less being perceived translucently.

Can someone please give me some feed back as to the nature of these perceptions?

There was a time that I thought maybe they were imaginary, but they are always being perceived by me, whether I am meditating or not, or whether I am doing bhastrika or not, and so what's up with all of this subtle perception jazz?

MiBeloved's Response:

These sensations, in all cases, means that the kundalini and/or the breath infused energy has moved into the respective areas. The thing to notice is the energy pattern which is the passage traveled by the infused energy through nadi channels. You read of or heard of nadis, so this is your personal evidence for yourself, for your confidence that such things exist. When the energy goes into an area it has to bore through or saturate a certain area. You become aware of those areas due to the saturation. It is an opportunity to observe those areas of the psyche, especially areas which you are not normally aware of and do not normally feel.

There are many ideas on the Internet and in books about the reasons for this, given by different yogis of different sect and even by people who just do imaginative or visualization chakra meditation. I feel you can get can opinion on this from Alfredo who has a background with the kriya yoga sect from Swami Hariharananda who was a known authority during his last life.

I do not pay attention to the nostrils being blocked or open. My interest is to infuse the energy irrespective of the particular nostril’s condition. I have found that if I infuse the energy into whatever side is open, then when that side is fully infused and can take no more infusion, the extra infusion goes over to the other side.

This is like when there is a tank which has a partition, so that in effect you have two tanks instead of one conjoint tank. In that case if you fill up one tank, the excess water will begin flowing over to the other side, and this will continue until the other side is just as filled as the initial tank. This is the system which I used.

My interest is what is going into the subtle body through which ever nostril is open. For me the responsibility of which nostril is opened rest with the sun, moon and the weather situation which is beyond my control. And I never lose any sleep over something which is beyond my control.

The easiest thing for me is to be in a situation which is not under my control because then I can sleep away and my brain stays cool.

But if you are a person, who gets stressed over what is beyond your control, then look it up on the internet and see what other concerned yogis say about it and try to follow their advice and see if it pays off for you. And, of course, you should post what you find out, and how you apply it, for the benefit of others.

About the perceptions mentioned in detail in your post:

MiBeloved's Response:

I feel that at this stage you should turn away from these perceptions and go to the back of the head, facing backwards. Report on what you find there and then I can see how I can assist you to move on with your practice.

In that Kriya Yoga I was taught, the goal of equalizing both nostrils was very much emphasized.

Supposedly, the left nostril is tied up with Ida Nadi, it is lunar, cool, feminine (Radha), the Chinese Yin. The right nostril is then tied up with Pingala Nadi, it is solar, hot, masculine (Krishna), the Chinese Yan.

Using the 7-bow Kriya before the kriya pranayama, is supposed to equalize Ida and Pingala and facilitate the pranayama practice.

However, this never worked for me as expected, and I, with the Acharya, do not pay attention to this, but simply focus on the breath infusion and, normally, both nostrils, more or less equalize after a while.

From what I was told (a very experienced guy) is that when both nostrils, ida and pingala are equal that means it's easier for them to collapse together into the central channel. that's why in Nadi Shodhana for example people do a certain ratio such as 4:2:4:2 as to balance them and that way they will collapse together. if I am not wrong every 60-80 minutes both nostrils are very open and equal to each other so if you do exactly Pranayama at that time you have much more chance to make them collapse. however I have also heard if you don't equal the nostrils in one way or the other the channels might collapse as well after your Pranayama practice as the energies will express them self (some sort of after effect) and might enter the channels for a while and then leave.  From my experience is when I did rapid breathing and suddenly I felt the nostrils were wide open and equal and then I felt my body being accumulated with energy.

Also almost every time my right nostril is much more blocked at night (when I go to sleep) then the left.

PS: Let's say you raise Kundalini while the right nostrils is completely blocked and the left is wide open, then Kundalini might use that channel to go up which can result in a cold or hot feeling and not so pleasant.
