For those who practice forcefully, in a very intense way, the skill of yoga will be achieved very soon.

Jai Shri Krishna

Om Yogi Madhvacharya Namah

After practicing for some months, I am now getting the benefits of a steady practice, thus if anything, it is the steadiness and constancy of purpose that bring the benefits, physical and spiritual, to the yogi(n). I do a minimum of 2 practices daily, and often 3.

I turned around my body and lost 35 pounds, and am now stretching and getting to some rather difficult Hatha Yoga asanas, and if I can do that at 59, anyone can do it. So...nil desperado! I am also developing astral projection awareness and have had lately several interesting OBEs.

I am at the stage where the Kundalini should be raised into the head as many times as possible. This stage could take months, or several years. The goal is to become proficient at raising Kundalini and finally, hopefully, to permanently bore open Sushumna Nadi.

Today, for example, I raised the Kundalini into the head with the 3 typical kneeling asanas very forcefully. Nowadays, I have to be able to let Kundalini escape after it enters the head, otherwise I end up with a big blackout. These blackouts are a result of disorientation and a temporary shift into the chittakash, they are usually blissful as they dispel thoughts temporarily, which is always a welcome occurrence; however, as such, they can be addictive and one must realize they are not the goal of the yoga, but only a side show. The decrease of thoughts must be finally a permanent goal.

Purification is also critical to advance in this yoga, and it also occurs if constant steadiness is brought to bear on our lifestyle. It cannot only be at the Atma Shudda level (soul purity), because the physical part will have great influence in the total. Thus, diet and the time one eats, are paramount. A way to calibrate the physical end is, at wake up time, by the coat on the tongue and the clearness of the eyes, for pollution coming from a bad lifestyle or excesses will first manifest in these 2 areas. Also, the stools should float like a submarine, for if they are too floaty denounce a Vata condition, and if sinking, a Tamasic or Rajasic one, often from ingesting too much protein.
