I think you nailed it down here. For once somebody got the gist of it about clearing up the filters of psychic perception.

Kaivalya as first isolating and disciplining the perception apparatus, and then as using those purified adjuncts.

Kaivalya as aloneness (not oneness), as the core self being alone without being influenced by the impure perception apparatus.
