Past/Present/Future

As a further note, because this is an interesting subject; I have gone back into my past frequently and actually saw scenes of the past life but one thing that cannot be done there is to change anything.

When in meditation this happens, one is a witness at best like a bystander locked in an airtight one-way soundproof glass case, where he can observe what happened exactly as it did but cannot adjust anything.

One of the things I have matured in from years of meditation is the understanding that what I did in the past causes in the present, for some opportunities to be afforded to me. Now I am not a person who flashes the word ego around. In so many books, I authored, you will have a problem finding the word ego anywhere. However in this one application, I would use the word which is:

The ego causes a person to think that he or she is engineering and selecting what is happening in the present. The fact is that the opportunities which are afforded us in the present are based on an unalterable past and in that sense the ego is merely a discoverer who claims territory. It is like the USA. Four hundred years ago people of European or African descent were nowhere around. But then they came here and they made some egoistic claims, like "This is my land. This is my country. I am an American

They did not create the land, country or any part of the environment in fact. So the karma (actions) from the past, produced the phalam (consequential circumstances) of the future, and the person then misunderstands because he has no perception of the long last past, and he must in his ignorance make assumptions based on just the information he has of the present

He forgot but nature remembers and gives him opportunities based on his forgotten past. He thinks that he is master of circumstances. He here means the current social ego consciousness.

What we do with the opportunities nature affords us in the present do not really affect the present, it creates the future instead but since we are focused predominantly in the present, we conclude that this is it. But nature will use our present acts as the architect which will design our future circumstance and then like it or not, we will again come out in the creation and face a new set of circumstances without knowing how we go there and how we were part of the formation of that new circumstance.
