Naad Advanced Details

MiBeloved 3 years ago

I got some more instructions about the naad kriya process. This gets complicated as it goes, so I will forewarn all students who have an interest in this.

Sri Lahiri said yesterday that a person within 6 months of doing this consistently would reach chit akash sky of consciousness on a consistent basis. This of course means being in the right environment, with the right people, doing the exactly right process, for the right period of time, every day, in isolated conditions.

If one is out in the Western world, with anyone who is corrosive towards yoga practice, which has doubts and criticisms about yoga, then this would not happen in six months. And still that six months estimate at least gives one some idea that this could be brought to completion.

When Sri Krishna as a student took direction from Upamanyu Rishi about how to meet with Lord Shiva in the supernatural world, Krishna was told that it could be done in six months. It happened in that way because of the right conditions, right association and right process done at the right time daily.

When students come over from material existence, they like to get guarantees about the spiritual process. For instance in some societies, one is told that one will go to heaven or to the spiritual world, if one joins a religious sect and does whatever the authority instructs, but most of this is a farce, of course.

The whole idea is that once a person gives up material existence in part, that person with the profit mentality from that zone wants to get guarantees or they threaten to leave off the process. They feel that they have a leverage position where they can make demands on the spiritual process and on the person(s) who advocates it.

With me, I do not make demands on any of my yoga gurus. I am a student and a boy student at that, so I have no adult demands to make. As a child is with parents, I have no demands to make but I express confidence in the direction given by the parent-teacher.

==================

The process given to me by Lahiri Baba about the naad process is that at first one has to get the core-self to adhere to naad. This might take weeks, months or years of listening to naad. A student listens to naad in the distance. Then the student stays put in the default position of the core self and listens. That is all that is required initially.

But then something happens along the way which is that the core self moves from its default position and enters naad. The question is where does it enter naad and how does it stay in naad.

The answer is that the student must at first realize the nodes in naad.

What is a node?

Node is the place in the naad sound where naad sound originates, where it blares or vibrates from. At first the student plays around with this, and sometimes discovers that there is more than one naad sound and there is more than one node. A naad sound may have one or more nodes, and if there is more than one naad frequency each one might have more than one node.

Yet, the student should focus on the most compelling loudest naad sound and should over time transfer into the naad sound itself, so that there is no distance between the core self and the naad sound. The core self should not be here and the naad sound there, even though initially that is how it has to be.

Naad sound is not going to move at the beck and call of the student. The student as the core-self has to move. The student should transit into a naad node and stay there. Yes, that is not possible in the beginning. In the beginning the core self will remain glued to its default location and it won’t move an inch but if the student keeps trying, then now and again, the student will find that the core-self moved into naad. then over time practicing this will be easy to do, where the student upon sitting to meditate immediately moves into naad and stays in naad for the duration of the meditation, just as if the student was glued into naad.

When this glued-to-naad experience happens day after day when the student sits to meditate and it becomes a habit of the psyche, then the student should work in seeing light in naad.

This does not mean visualizing light. It means actual perception of light without even using eyes without even focusing to see light. This is where the student, after being glued to naad for many meditation sessions, finds that the vision energy is shut. It is there but it is not used, it does not apply itself one bit to see anything. This is like when a large factory shuts down. The hum of the machines, the numerous employees, everything ceases activity in relation to the factory. The place becomes a ghost town.

When the senses shut down in the psyche, there is a hush, a silence, a lull, the absence of frantic activity, the absence of deliberate use of the senses to hunt objects. Then the student notices this and is surprised at this hard-to-attain development.

The student gets some happiness from this, because this removes doubts about yoga practice, where people think that what it claims to be is not what it really is. And yet even though the student has this happiness after seeing the sensual energy shut down, still the student suppressed the happiness because the student is still fearful of the senses, and does not want to do anything which will cause them to again begin their humbug  harassments of the core-self.

If you are in the lions’ cage and they are fast asleep, then you get a little happiness for sure but you do not burst out laughing, for fear that you might wake one of them up and then it would be over. So you are laughing inside very quietly and you are still fearful that something might happen which will wake them up. You are not arrogant, thinking,

“O I can laugh as loud as I desire, what can these lions do to me?”

Seeing that the senses are shut down especially the dominating visual sense, the student gets a pinch of happiness and no more. Then the student gets an instruction from a yoga guru about how to exhibit a visual interest in the naad sound, in the naad vibration.

The visual sense is then exhibited in the naad vibration and in no other part of the psyche; this causes the student to see in the naad vibration, to see a light yellow glow.

Initially even though this is a big deal, light in naad, still the student does not get much out of it, except to know that light is perceptible in naad. And then there is another development where the student finds that he gets sustenance, spiritual satisfaction from the naad light.

It seems that the student is a baby in the arms of its mother when it is listening to naad and seeing naad light. It seems that as a baby the student is like a sobbing infant, who was finally put near its mother’s breast.

It gives one, two, three and one half more sobs as it settles down and begins to breast feed. The infant becomes so happy that it does not even show any happiness; instead it only displays absorption in the nutrients coming out of the nipple. It is so happy that it cannot even think that it is happy. It has no idea that it is being satisfied every step of the way. It is so absorbed that it cannot stop to assess its secure situation.

Then as soon as the student gets to be a regular naad sound / naad visual perception meditator, then the student is inspired to roll the tongue up and backwards, so that the tip of it reaches the soft palate in the back. There will be a multi-features tasting experience which will reinforce hearing naad and reinforcing seeing in naad, and which will be underneath the naad sound.

Special note:

This advice works if the student does breath infusion before sitting to meditate. It may or may not work on other occasions.

Holding the three senses, the hearing sense, the seeing sense and the tasting sense, is the beginning of advanced kriya yoga.
