My Money in Heaven

A few nights ago in the astral world, I was with a person who is an official in the Hare Krishna Movement. Physically, I have not seen this persons for at least twenty years now. The question of why I encountered that person or was drawn to him astrally without desiring to see him is answered in the fact that he wanted to converse with me on why so many senior people in their society became degraded.
Gradually the society collapsed due to multiple injuries received to the reputation of various senior persons. This guy wanted to question me about it because when I used to know him he insulted me repeatedly about doing yoga practice and meditating and wanted me to abandon that and take to their hard line which is that the only solution for spiritual advancement was chanting holy names and toeing the line of the guru of the sect verbatim.
He was thinking that if doing that did not protect so many persons who gave their lives to the society, then something was amiss after all. As he was putting his case forward to me like a prosecuting attorney finalizing the evidence against a dangerous criminal. He said this,
“I have traced most of it to the need for opulence. The example of you-know-who is typical of what happened. This person wanted to spread the glories of his spiritual master and also of Krishna. He was money hungry in the name of building temples and communities in the guidelines given by the Founding Acharya. And yet he was ruined. Why? His desire for opulence led to criminal acts for which he was implicated.”

I then said to him something that the reason is so simple even a child-angel can explain it to a human being.
“In the heavenly world, no one ever worked a day to earn a living. No one ever got money there by the sweat of the brow. There is no idea there that unless one works one cannot get bread. There is no requirement that you must acquire funds legally or illegally, or that you must exploit others or take money from others to acquire wealth.
“This view about getting money to produce opulence is a total scenario from the earthly planets. It is materialism. It has nothing to do with heavenly life, or spiritual life.”
“This person you are speaking about, you-know-who, was compared to King Yudhishthira by the Founder-Acharya of the society. I saw more than one letter in which he was cited in that way by the Acharya. But I have never read one line in the Mahabharata where Yudhishthira worked hard for money. His wealth came from either inheritance or by taxes and tributes from provinces. There is a case however where money came to him like magic and that was where Lord Krishna told him where to get the gold which was left over from the civilization of King Marutta.
“There is no evidence of Yudhishthira using the idea of taking money from the demons or unbelievers to build palaces either for himself or for Krishna. There were no vicious acts of Yudhishthira which were recorded.
“Incidentally once in a private conversation with you-know-who, he brought to my attention that one Vaishnava Acharya in South India built large temples from stolen money which was given to him by robbers whom he converted. You-know-who told me this when it was reported to him by some other devotees that I objected to raising money by dishonest methods. He also said that the Society’s Founder-Acharya got such money previously and used it explaining that it was being used in Krishna’s service.
“In this way you-know-who built his confidence in what he was doing to produce opulence and the same energy turned sour on him, caused him to be seriously wounded by a devotee assailant, and to be imprisoned for charges like racketeering. It even caused the parent society to reject him. Who know what reactions are finding him in the astral world for he is now deceased? Who knows what reactions he will face in the life (lives) to come?”

Anyone who has an active memory of life in the celestial world will not endeavor for opulence in this world. Why endeavor here for opulence in a body which will last for about 100 years, when one can soon return to the celestial regions and live in free opulence without earning one’s keep, without working for one second to acquire a livelihood, without having to exploit any other person to make a profit. Only a person who has lost touch with the memory of such a fabulous life will work like a dog for money on earth, much less risk the negative consequential effect-energies (bad karma) which might accrue from exploiting other human beings to acquire it.
People who want to give us the very best are speaking about us giving up resentments and hatred but nature itself will not give up resentment. If I do a criminal act nature will remember it even if it takes nature one millions years to find me and return it to me. I can be as resentment-free as the New Age gurus want me to be but Nature has no concern about it. It will hold resentments until they are justly compensated.
Under the circumstances only a fool would commit a criminal act in the name of family, country, religion or whatever.

Special Notes:
You-know-who above is Kirtanananda Swami (Keith Ham).
It never made sense to me to work like a dog for anything. I will work strenuously as the occasion demands but not under the motivation to make money. It is senseless to do so if I am going to the celestial world after death or even after the next one billion lives. What is the point in making opulence your obsession even in the name of religion? None of wage earning trip ever added up to intelligence as far as I can see.
In this respect, Jesus Christ, Lord that he is, told a nice story about the prodigal son. After working like a dog on earth, and ending up in the gutter class of human beings, the prodigal son came to his senses and decided that it was not worth a damn. He abandoned the earthly life and returned to his father’s estate, where he lived like a king.
You guessed it; the father’s estate is the astral heavens.

What a profound statement. Recently I was thinking about what the gurus who require money or compensation for their time would want in return in the astral. It appears that there is an incompatibility with certain minds, but maybe there is room for minor adjustments for others.

I agree with this. I studied computer engineer about 9 years ago because it’s what I wanted to learn at the time, when I got out I never looked for a job because I didn’t want to work on that, I just wanted to learn about it. It’s really only until recently that I have understood my weirdness, which in reality is my sanity.
