My Karma and My Location

Karma or the results of previous cultural activities, especially those committed in a previous life, can only be realized in specific locations. Even if one wants to cash in on a certain cultural activity, one may be unable to because of being in the wrong location. Take for instance someone who in a recent past life was in Bolivia, and who did much pious activity in that place. He or she may take a body with parents who migrate from Bolivia to the United States.

Now in the new location that person may not be able to cash in on the results of that Bolivian life and might become frustrated. It is like saving money in a bank in Russia and then traveling to Morocco and then realizing that one cannot withdraw the money in another country. Subsequently, one ends up as a poverty stricken person in that other country, even though if one had remained in Russia, one would have been well-to-do.

Recently a few friends of mine were circumstantially forced to relocate their daughter to the country of their birth. They migrated to the USA but their daughter’s rights to a decent education were not activated here. As a result the girl went through school here for many years and was found to be lacking in a basic education.

Providence is cruel to say the least, and it is not concerned merely with fulfillment of our desires. People say that we should just pay attention to the moment, to now, and not ponder the past or future, but unfortunately no one is able to convince providence to deal with us in that hopeful and bright way.

Providence will only agree to pay up for previous pious activities if we are located in a certain place only.

Take for example this Web Site, this Forum and take for example my books. If I was in Guyana which is my preferred location, I could not do this Web Site nor publish the books in the way I have done. At the same time, even though I am doing this, I cannot make a living in this country and I am actually poverty stricken.

Now and again when it pleases providence, someone sends me a buck or two or more and I manage to survive another day. When I stay in New York, it is by the grace of my sister who had never embarrassed me to pay any rent or even to contribute for utilities. I guess since our mother, grandmother and everybody like that are now deceased, the nurturing feminine energy in the family is now divested in her and perhaps that is allowing her to do this.

In our family, the tradition is that bigger sister is surrogate mother and is respected in that way. So even though I am her brother, I am actually her son functionally. And as a mother tolerates even a retarded son, so she tolerates me.

If I get crazy and relocate to Guyana right now my yoga practice would make a big jump but my participation on this forum would be greatly reduced. I asked Sir Paul to do this forum with me and now people like Neil Crenshaw are jumping in, so perhaps these persons might free me up from this so I can leave the developed countries.

But if I go to Guyana then I will lose some of the things that I do here in a developed country. Location is the key factor into how providence will activate one's karma.

In the case of my friends and their daughter, the girl has pious activity in their native country and not in the USA, so when she was being raised here she was actually being deprived of her pious activity results? Now they have moved her back and that is better but still there has been much time lost some of which will never be retrieved.

The point is that karma or the resultant pay off from a past life can only be made fully if one is situated in the right place. Let us take the example of a person who had some money in the bank in Russia. That money was worth about 100,000 US currency. When he got to Morocco, he went into a bank and asked them to allow him to withdraw the money; the teller said that it was not possible but that he should check back on the following day when the bank manager would be available.

The man returned the following day. The bank manager told him that under special agreement with the Russian embassy, it was possible for the money to be transferred to Morocco but there would be a fee. When he asked about the percentage of the fee he was told that it would amount to 85% of the sum he had in Russian.

The man was shocked. He said, "85% is a rip-off. What are you saying? Are you crazy?"

With that he stormed out of the bank.

So it is like that. If providence even allows one to reap any of the results of a previous pious act in the new life in an odd place, then providence will levy a high percentage which will result in a reduction of the pay off.

O yes, providence is very cruel.

In my own life I will cite a case. When I was in Trinidad in 1967, I was due to go to South Hampton University in the UK. My uncle was in England having stowed away on a ship from South America some years prior. I passed several exams which qualified me to go to South Hampton to study navigation. Everything was set up but then as providence would have it my father was fired from his job and his income sunk. He had to leave the island and for me I had to leave either to go to South American or to the USA.

I got to the USA but in that location my education was ditched. The education I would have received in the UK could not be acquired by me in the USA because I had no karmic rights to that education in this other location. So it is like that. These things are hard to understand and hard to accept because we like to feel that this material existence is under our control and is within our means of enjoyment.

Right now I am like a homeless person in a way, because providence feels that it doesn’t need for me to be in the world. I have pious credits from many past lives in many places but providence refuses to pay up. With me it has a tight purse and gives the least possible amount. And it won’t allow me to get into a location that is favorable for me to have a happy-go-lucky life. Providence is thinking like this,

“I don’t need any more loafers. And I am not going to pay everybody everything I owe them. And I certainly won’t be paying him.”

So like that my attitude is to just accept providence. It cannot be relied on to give one an easy time in life. It will hardly cause one to be born with a silver spoon in one’s mouth unless there is some deadly poison on that spoon.

And getting a bad attitude towards providence only makes matters worse for oneself.

In the astral world last night, I was trying to explain to my friend and his wife, these truths about providence but his wife was just crying and crying over the matter. Crying about what providence does to screw up our situations is okay but we should still try to review providence as a mathematical force which operates reactions to our actions and which is very very unfriendly at times.

The present time is produced only from the past. The future will be based on the present. But the present itself when seen from the Causal plane, is like a mushy substance which is squeezed between two jaws of a vice. One jaw is the past and the other jaw is the future. As the present tries to escape from the pressure which bears down upon it from those two jaws, it bulges out in this way or that way and that we experience as the now, the moment. But it is not that in every moment I am located in a good place. That is not possible. Sometimes I am located in a very disadvantageous situation.

Dwelling on this would just add to the tailspin of the situation...how depressing to dwell on the squeeze between the two jaws of a vice. Don’t touch the pain.
