Muktananda’s Subtle Body Change Kriyas

These are three kriyas having to do with the way the subtle body processes and distributes breath infused high charge subtle energy. This is for use when kundalini is no longer in the spine and was pulled up into the brain.

 

The student will find that if he or she persistently does kundalini yoga in the traditional way using bhastrika pranayama to strike at and raise kundalini, there will be a time when the kundalini will no longer be anchored at the base chakra, muladhara. Then there will no longer be darting of kundalini up the spine into the brain.

 

Instead there will be energy accumulation, explosion and firing from various parts of the subtle body directly without having to actuate and motivate kundalini to move.

 

After targeting this practice for some time, months or years depending on the intensity of practice, the student will find that he or she is able to cause the trunk of the subtle body, the thighs up to the knees and the neck, to be filled with fresh pranic energy which will be like slivers of light randomly scattered and stacked in those parts of the subtle form.

 

When the system is found to be consistently filled with this random light (as in sunlight), then the next step is to be sure that the neck remains cleared out, especially the fleshy parts of the neck. The thighs down to the knees should be like a balloon which is filled with randomly stacked slivers of light.

 

Swamiji said one should do these three processes which he named:

 

Sex Lift

Skin-around Lift

Sacral Cage Smash

original kundalini sex-energy contribution 

 

Sex lift is where the yogi pulls up all energy from the pubic area in a curved pull of energy beginning at left and right sides of the public area and pulling up through the neck and head all energy.

 

This practice is the reverse of the configuration which kundalini established in the body at the time when the physical body reached the full sexual maturity. Then it pulls all energy down to the pubic area. This practice is the reverse action. This is done during breath infusion where the breath energy vaporizes all downward-oriented hormone energy and pulls it all up.

 

The yogi should keep doing this exercise day after day until this reverse pull becomes established, until the system no longer operates the natural downward hormone system.

skin-around lift 

 

The skin-around lift is when the yogi pushes pranic energy from the breath infusion down around the skin on the neck, shoulders and sides of the trunk of the subtle body. As this is done, there will be a static charge of energy which will go in the opposite direction, coming upward through the skin of the neck into the scalp of the head.

The sacral cage smash exercise is the final attempt to destroy the chakra system which was installed as the mainframe of the subtle body by the kundalini psychic life force system. If a yogi fails to crush out this sacral cage then he will have no alternative but to take another material body, irrespective of what his ideals may be, irrespective of his realization or deity affiliation.

 

Even on the physical level, kundalini established the sacral cage of bones which it uses as a fortress to protect itself even from the core-self which it manipulates. Thus unless one can smash this fort, there is no question of rooting out the influence of kundalini.

 

Weakening the power of kundalini, decreasing its influence are not guarantees of its subjugation. The yogi has to smash its hiding place.

 

By doing the forward over-bend tight lotus posture, leaning left, leaning right and leaning center, one may be able to smash the sacral cage. This is a difficult posture and should be done with great care so as not to cripple the body during the practice. Breath infusion while in this posture, causing the energy to go into the sacral bones which in turn give the yogi the power to fragment and eventually eliminate this fortress of the kundalini.
