Correspondence Question:

Can you clarify about the mental mind activity and the other willing, knowing, intending and other features which appear like thinking but seem to be other than what is normal mental mind activity?

MiBeloved's Response:

To be clear when I use the word mind, I may use it in a way which is different to how others use the word, even yourself. Therefore let me clarify that the mind in my usage is the head chamber of the subtle body. Just as we have the skull chamber in the physical body which houses the brain, so we have a mind which houses a set of psycho-mental adjuncts. In the trunk of the subtle body we have energies which are produced by the kundalini life force which is a psycho-emotional adjunct.

The so called thinking mind, in my usage, is not the mind but is an adjunct in the mind. The word in Sanskrit for this is buddhi which translates as intellect in English.

To put my finger on your question, I would have to rephrase it like this:

Can you clarify about the intellect’s activity as contrasted to the other willing, knowing, intending motivations which either appear as thinking or are converted into the thinking process where these urges are illustrated in the mind in a thinking format and are then considered to be a thinking activity even though they did not originate in the intellect?

The intellect is an independent and totally isolated psychic orb which does the following:

·       Thinks

·       Imagines (including day dreaming)

·       Gives supernatural perception (when its thinking and imagining mode is completely shut down)

--------

Willing, knowing and intending in so far as these are motivations and impulses, are created by the life force but these may then be processed by the thinking ability of the intellect.

The intellect is a psychic organ unto itself but it is influenced by life force energies and motivations. Then it serves the emotions by executing calculative analysis to support and subsidize emotional demands.

In advanced meditation one gains the ability to sort this so as to know what is an outright creation of the intellect, and what is a creation of the intellect which it was influenced to perform based on impulsions forced into it by the life force psychic mechanism.
